A special note for the day after- The New Hope Cemetery is very important to so many because we have laid our loved ones to rest in this beautiful, peaceful place on the hill here in Pollard. We all want to maintain the upkeep needed to keep it that way. Therefore we have the Annual Pollard Picnic ( exception the year of Covid)- this being the 93rd year. All proceeds go to the maintenance of New Hope Cemetery. It takes lots and lots of dedicated people, volunteering to make a successful and profitable picnic. Yes - there are lots of hard hours put in, lots of financial donations, lots of giving by merchants to raise money. There are some people that have little or no connection with the cemetery but just love the Pollard Picnic through the community bonding, the fun, and loving atmosphere, the working together and keeping traditions alive. The vibe is infectious! Numerous old and young alike say it’s their best day of the year! So… as there are so many people tired and recovering from our biggest day, just know- that you are appreciated and loved for any involvement whatsoever that you participated. Thank you for showing up in person or in your heart from afar- because of you, we have had another successful POLLARD PICNIC! God bless and let’s keep the cherished memories of our loved ones, forever near!
