Cataract Lake Vendors Fair, Cataract Lake Grocery, and Jackson Township Community Hall, Inc. would like to invite everyone to come take advantage of this free event. We have lots of available spaces and are conveniently located right on Highway 42 beside Cataract Lake in Cunot, Indiana..
We also would like to encourage the members of the community and surrounding areas to plan on having their yard sales that day. Let's all work together, have some fun, and maybe put a few pennies in our pockets in the process

Happy 4th Everyone!
REMINDER: More pets become lost, injured, or killed on 4th of July than any other day of the year! Dogs have two responses in unknown situations- FIGHT OR FLIGHT if you take away the opportunity for flight or to run away when they sense danger just think of the terror they experience. How would you like to be tied up and something coming to do you harm and you cant get away.......i couldnt even imagine the horror that would be.............so please if you love your pet, dont subject them to that. You are just creating an behavior issue that you will have to deal with the rest of thier lives. Thats just sad and wrong. Place you pets in a garage or room in the house with a safe area for them to retreat to, If you are leaving turn on the tv or radio to drown out some of the noise but make sure there is nothing for them to get injured on if they try to run from the noise. Most animals when they go in to "flight mode" will not stop until they get out of that adrenalin stage, they will run blindly until they just cant run anymore, that is how most are injured or killed. They run into traffic or some object and its all over. If you love your pets, think of them on this day, its the worst day of the year for animals......do your part and lets keep them safe!!!!!

We would like to thank Steve for taking wednesdays to volunteer to work at the Hall. He is our resident pool guru, so if you want to learn some pool or brush up on your game with a great partner come in on wednesdays noon- 4pm ! Kids this is a great time to come in and learn how to play and Steve is a great teacher! Thank you Steve! you rock!

We are very excited, after months of waiting, our first wedding at the Hall is fast approaching! It started out just as a reception and then t blossomed into a full blown huge shindig ! lol I cant wait! Every first for us is a big deal and we have been working hard on getting more work done inside and getting it all spiffied up for the big day. Not only will it be a first for the Hall but it will be a first for me as well, as i am going to be officiating it. What an amazing honor it is to be able to do this! I will keep you all posted. Thank you to all of those who have faith and trust in us and give us moral support! You all rock!

If you have community service work to do or know anyone that has it to do, we will happily let you do your work here. There is plenty of work left to do on our building and the grounds, and we need someone to come in and do basic housekeeping and janitorial work a few times a week. So we can use as many people as would like to come and give us a honest days work. You can call the Hall and leave a message if no one is there and we will get you set up. Is there anyone out there that does cooling units? I need someone that could come out and refill the freon in our coke machine. Possibly do it as a donation if we pay for the supplies needed? Or do it cheap, we are 501c3 and tax deductible. It would certainly be much appreciated! We are looking for people to help with a new program, Rescue Meals. We need coordinators that would help contact local businesses and restraunts in your area to build a network of donors, and arrange pick up times and pick up drivers that would be willing to pick up the food in your area and bring to our facility to be distributed out to those in need.
Americans waste so much food, grocery stores throw away food if it doesnt fill a certain standard, produce that is too small or not ripe enough or too ripe or close to expiring, various reasons yet there is nothing wrong with the food. Restraunts have left over food or meals that get thrown away each day because they have nothing else to do with it. All of these foods can be rescued and distributed out to the needy. Millions of pounds of food thrown into landfills each day in our country all because there isnt someone there to rescue it and get it where it could be used.
Thats the purpose of this program, rescue meals, locate and coordinate pick ups so it can be put out for anyone looking for a meal or someone needing to feed their family.
