What a great day on the trails! 🚵🏼

Members and ambassadors of PVTA had the opportunity to volunteer at the Gibson Jack Aid Station for Pocatello Fall Ultra, cheering on riders as they pushed their limits and enjoyed the trails we’re lucky to call home.

We loved hearing how much riders enjoyed Poky trails! Their enthusiasm is a great reminder of how trails bring people together - from those who build and maintain them, to the volunteers who support events, to everyone who gets out there to explore and enjoy them.

A huge shoutout to Pocatello Fall Ultra and all of the volunteers and organizers who help make this event possible and contribute to maintaining trails along the race course and beyond. We’re grateful to be part of such a welcoming and dedicated trail community! 🙌🌿

Seven new pet waste stations were installed by the Portneuf Valley Trails Alliance across Pocatello's City Creek and Cusick Creek.

We are happy to partner with the city on local improving our local trails.

Looking for trailwork volunteer opportunities? We've partnered with Portneuf Valley Trails Alliance to create a public calendar on their website where you can find all upcoming opportunities around Pocatello with various agencies and groups. We've also added major trail races and events to the calendar so you can stay up to date.

The remainder of the August and September calendars are updated, and we're looking for volunteers to help out with these projects, which will improve our trail systems for everyone.

New to trail building? No problem, we'll teach you.
Afraid you're not strong enough? It's about technique, not brute strength, and there are a variety of tasks on each project.
A bit intimidated? We have great volunteers and crew leaders who welcome you into the crew!

Unfortunately, this year, it's been a struggle to get volunteers. If everyone who uses the trails could sign up for just one day, we could complete an incredible amount of maintenance and improvements on our trail systems!

Have an idea or potential trail project? Let us know!

🚨 Update: feedback has been incorporated into the final draft of City Creek Trails Master Plan, which will soon be released and sent to Council for adoption. Stay tuned!

It’s raining! Due to much needed moisture, we will be completing tread repair on Sterling Justice tomorrow.

PVTA has been busy with the City Creek dog waste station install in the last few hot weeks. Now that the mornings are cooler we’re shifting focus to working on the trails! 🪏🌱🌾

This Sunday 8/23 we continue to brush Slate to allow for more clearance and enjoyable adventures! Meet us at Gibson Jack TH at 8 am. If you have tools to brush vegetation, bring them!

PVTA had a busy Friday afternoon through Saturday morning!

We’re honored to be part of the incredible display of grit, endurance, and appreciation for our local trails that brings to our community each year. We had the opportunity to connect with runners at the pre-race meeting, share our mission, and spread the word about the work we do throughout the Portneuf Valley.

Meanwhile, our board members and ambassadors were hard at work setting up the Upper City Creek Aid Station before pulling an all-nighter to support the 100- and 50-mile racers. We loved meeting everyone who came through, helping runners refuel and recover, and cheering them on as they made their way back toward Mink Creek. 🏃
