Help Us Keep Matthew Yount's Legacy Alive – Support the Matthew Yount Memorial Scholarship Foundation

In memory of Matthew Yount—a beloved son, brother, and friend who tragically passed away at just 20 years old in 2013—we invite you to support a cause that continues to make a lasting impact.

Matthew grew up in Pleasanton, attending St. Raymond School in Dublin and graduating from Foothill High School in 2011, where he was a proud four-year member of the golf team. He went on to study Business at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. While participating in a study abroad program in Spain, Matthew lost his life in a tragic drowning accident just before his junior year.

To honor his life, the Pleasanton Lions Club established the Matthew Yount Memorial Scholarship Foundation, dedicated to providing financial assistance to deserving students from Pleasanton’s three high schools and those participating in Cal Poly’s study abroad program.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, over $250,000 in scholarships have been awarded in the past 12 years—supporting the dreams of local students who might not otherwise have the means to pursue higher education.

However, our primary fundraising event—the annual golf tournament—was paused due to low participation. The need remains, and we need your help now more than ever to continue awarding these scholarships in Matthew’s name.

How You Can Help

Now through September 30, 2025:
All donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 by the Yount Family and the Pleasanton Lions Club!

Bonus:
The top 5 donors will earn an exclusive day of golf at Wente Golf Course on Thursday, October 23, 2025—a small thank-you for your incredible generosity.

A HUGE Thank You from the Pleasanton Lions Club!

We're thrilled to announce that our 2025 Annual Crab Feed was a resounding success! Not only did we have an amazing time with great food and company, but we also raised over $11,000 for the Los Angeles fire recovery efforts. Your generosity and support mean the world to us and to those affected by the fires.
