Today I had the sweetest cross-continental video chat with Joel, Annette, and Faith, three amazing students at Pillars of Africa Children’s Ministry. They loved seeing the snow and asked lots of questions! When I mentioned it was 15°F, they immediately put their math skills to work and proudly calculated the Celsius equivalent at -9.444. I loved seeing their curiosity and confidence in action.

They asked me to pass along a heartfelt thank you to their sponsors and everyone who partners with Hearts United in God’s Service. Your kindness is not just supporting their education, it is shaping hopeful, bright futures. These children are growing into thoughtful, capable young leaders because of you. The Pillars kiddos love their new clothes! Thank you to everyone who donated!

The only items on their Christmas list that we were not able to get yet were a new towel, bed sheet and blanket for each of them and a few cases for storing their clothing. 
Any additional year-end donations we receive will be used for these items and any carryover will be used for their first education term.

We are excited to present a 2026 wall calendar with artwork created by the talented kids at The Pillars of Africa Children’s Ministry! (Special thanks to Susan Burgess for teaching art to the children on her many trips to Uganda.)

Calendar Description: The calendars are spiral bound 12-month wall calendars starting with January 2026. Each month features a specific child’s artwork, a scripture reference, the holidays for that month, a place for notes, and a QR code to the HUGS website.
The back cover features pictures of the artists and their names as well as the QR code to the Sponsorship page of the website. Cost is $20 each plus shipping.

🎉Special thanks to Susan C Burgess for the many art camps she has conducted with the children through the years, and also allowing the use of her art supplies!
