Recently, we had the opportunity to celebrate those values in action alongside some incredible community partners: Dayton Christian School, Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education - SOCHE, and Trades For Life Foundation.

Together, these organizations are supporting workforce development through a collaborative hiring opportunity Dayton Christian School senior, Collin May. He worked with our crew on our job site at Dayton Christian School. He helped renovate the classrooms that he and his classmates will be using this school year!

IT'S RODEO TIME ONCE AGAIN!

Mark your calendars, grab your cowboy hats, throw on those boots and bring the family! The rodeo is back and ready to rock, join us for a FULL DAY of rodeo events.

MJ Macy is an upcoming senior at Arcanum-Butler School. He is out in the field working on the Arcanum Sports Complex Project alongside our team.

TFL is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Funderburg as the newest member of its Board of Directors.

Tom currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Hobart Institute of Welding Technology in Troy, Ohio, where he provides leadership and strategic direction for one of the premier welding education institutions in the country. His extensive experience in leadership, workforce development and technical education, brings valuable insight to the TFL board.

We had the opportunity to meet today with Charles Carpenter, President, and Board Chair, Tom Funderburg, of the Hobart Institute of Welding.
It was a great conversation focused on opportunities to strengthen workforce development and advance the skilled trades.

Today’s discussion opened the door to exciting possibilities and we’re encouraged by the potential to build a strong relationship moving forward. The Trades for Life Foundation, in partnership with the Miami County ESC and OhioMeansJobs, collaborated with area high schools to provide students with valuable career exploration opportunities.

Participants toured two local businesses and gained insight into internships, job shadowing, work based learning and various career pathways. Students also engaged, in hands-on activities and real-world learning experiences that encouraged collaboration and skill development alongside their peers. Thank you Stull Woodworks, and Pioneer Electric for the amazing experience!
