❄️🐾 Huge DDS Shoutout! 🐾❄️

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to KC AC and Heating and owner Toby for their incredible generosity and support! 🩵

After we posted looking for someone to help install the mini split units in our garage, Toby reached out immediately. He and his two sons made us a priority, came out today, installed both units, and supplied everything needed to get them mounted and running. 🔧🏠

Not only did they do an amazing job, but they thanked us for the work we do and genuinely wanted to help support our mission. ❤️🐾

And let me tell you… these units WORK! 😂 Within 10 minutes there was an instant difference in the garage. In fact, I’m currently frozen! 🥶❄️ Even better, these units also provide heat, so we’re covered for winter too. Having reliable heating and cooling will make a huge difference for our dogs, volunteers, and staff all year long. 🔥❄️

We also learned that Toby owns a dog-friendly Airbnb right here in town, and several of our out-of-town DDS volunteers have actually stayed there before and loved it. 🏠🐶

📣 One small favor from me…
If you have a moment, please stop by Toby’s page and show him some love. ❤️ A like, comment, recommendation, or simple thank you means so much to small business owners who support nonprofits like ours. Sometimes the smallest gestures are the best way to say thank you. 🩵

Thank you, Toby and family, for helping make DDS a more comfortable place for both the dogs and the humans who care for them! 🐾🩵🤍🖤

🏷️🐾 Looking for a Church Partner for Our Annual DDS Garage Sale Fundraiser! 🐾🏷️

We are starting to plan our annual garage sale fundraiser and are looking for a church in the Kansas City metro area that would be willing to let us use their gymnasium, fellowship hall, or auditorium space for a Friday and Saturday this fall.

📅 We are completely flexible on dates.

As many of you know, Daisy’s Dane Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue, and fundraisers like this are critical to keeping our doors open and allowing us to continue helping Great Danes in need. ❤️

Last year, Peculiar United Methodist Church graciously hosted us, and it worked wonderfully. We are incredibly thankful for their support and could absolutely use that facility again. 🙏

However, this year we’re hoping to find a location a little closer to Kansas City or further north so we can increase attendance and make the event even more successful by drawing supporters from all areas of the metro. 📍

And when we say we need space… we mean it. 😅

Last year’s garage sale was HUGE.

The DDS community absolutely showed up. People donated truckloads, trailer loads, garage cleanouts, estate sale leftovers, furniture, household items, décor, pet supplies, and just about everything else you can imagine. By the time setup was complete, it looked more like a department store than a garage sale. 😂

Because of the incredible support we received, we fully anticipate this year’s event being the same size… or even bigger. 📦📦📦

So we are looking for a facility with a large open space that can accommodate a significant amount of donated items, volunteers, shoppers, checkout areas, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with a fundraiser of this size. ❤️

Before anyone suggests it… yes, we’ve already checked into local community centers, event spaces, and venues. Unfortunately, the rental fees would eat up a large portion of what we raise, and after expenses, it simply doesn’t make financial sense for a rescue our size. 💸

To be completely transparent, we do not currently have a budget for facility rental. Our hope is to find a church that would be willing to partner with us and allow us to use the space at no cost as part of their community outreach and support of animal welfare. 🐶❤️

The part I’m most excited about…

We have officially built a DDS Fundraising Team! 🎉

And let me tell you… these girls are READY. 💪🔥

They’ve already started planning, organizing, brainstorming, and preparing to make this our biggest garage sale yet. Seeing people step up and take ownership of fundraising for the dogs has me more excited than I’ve been in a long time.

If your church might be interested, or if you know someone who can connect us with the right person, please send us a message. 📩

And even if you can’t help directly, please share this post. The right building is out there somewhere… we just need Facebook to help us find it. ❤️🐾🏷️🎉

💔🐾 MOO NEEDS A TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME 🐾💔

Our sweet Mission RISE boy, Moo, needs your help.

Over the weekend, Moo developed a neurological issue that has left him unsteady on his feet and walking as if he’s dizzy or disoriented. Since then, he has seen multiple veterinarians, spent time hospitalized, undergone extensive testing, met with a neurologist, and even had a CT scan. So far, every test has come back normal.

The good news is that none of the doctors currently believe this is seizures or Wobblers Syndrome. The neurologist suspects the issue may be originating from his head or neck and has recommended an MRI, but we are currently waiting on the court’s ruling regarding the Mission RISE dogs before moving forward with additional diagnostics. Unfortunately, an MRI is a significant expense, and at this point we still don’t have clear answers about what is causing his symptoms.

In the meantime, Moo is looking for a temporary foster home for the next couple of weeks.

Moo is fully potty trained, loves people, adores kids, and is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He doesn’t need to be carried or constantly assisted. Most of the time he simply needs someone nearby to help guide him when his balance is off. Because of his current condition, we feel a dog-free home, or a home where he can be kept separate from other pets, would be best.

You must be local to the Kansas City area, as Moo may need additional appointments and follow-up visits while we continue searching for answers.

This boy survived so much before coming to DDS. He finally learned what it felt like to be loved, and we’d love to find him a quiet place where he can rest, recover, and be spoiled while we figure out what’s causing these symptoms.

❤️ If you are interested in temporarily fostering Moo, please complete a foster application:

Please share this post. The right foster may be just one share away, and we’d love nothing more than for Moo to spend the next few weeks curled up on a couch surrounded by love instead of sitting in a kennel.

🏠🐾 DOUBLE THE IMPACT BUILDING FUNDRAISER UPDATE! 🐾🏠

You all have absolutely blown me away with your support.

When we launched this fundraiser, we announced a $15,000 matching donation, meaning every dollar donated would be doubled and have twice the impact for the dogs.

As of today, we’ve raised $7,000 toward the $15,000 match! 🎉

That means we’re almost halfway there, but we still have a long way to go to unlock the full match and maximize every dollar donated.

And between you and me… I’ve heard a few whispers that reaching the original goal may not necessarily mean the end of the matching opportunity. 😉💙

So let’s keep pushing.

A permanent Daisy’s Dane Sanctuary facility would allow us to provide:

🐾 Safe housing for dogs waiting for homes
🐾 Dedicated medical and recovery areas
🐾 Rehabilitation and training space
🐾 Room to grow and help even more dogs in need
🐾 A lasting home for the mission we’ve all built together

Every dollar donated today is still being matched.

💙 $25 becomes $50
💙 $100 becomes $200
💙 $500 becomes $1,000
💙 $1,000 becomes $2,000

We’ve come too far to stop now.

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to donate, this is it.

Thank you for believing in this dream, believing in these dogs, and helping us build a future where more animals get the second chance they deserve.

🐾 Together, we’re building more than a facility. We’re building hope.

🚨 Looking for a Handyman / HVAC-Savvy Volunteer or Affordable Contractor 🚨

Daisy’s Dane Sanctuary is looking for someone who can help us install two 12,000 BTU mini split units in our garage rescue space.

These units are pre-charged and plug into a standard outlet, so no HVAC charging or electrical work is needed. We simply need someone who can:

✅ Mount the indoor units
✅ Mount the outdoor condensers
✅ Drill the holes through the exterior wall
✅ Run and connect the lines according to the manufacturer’s instructions

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue and operate entirely on donations. While I can compensate someone for their time, our budget is limited, so we’re hoping to find someone willing to help us at a reduced rate or even donate a portion of their labor.

The garage is home to many of our rescue dogs, and having reliable heating and cooling would make a huge difference for them, especially our puppies, seniors, and medical cases.

If you have experience installing mini splits or know someone who does, please send me a message. We’d greatly appreciate the help! ❤️🐾
