📸 A Look Back at Our Inaugural Tom Douglas Pickleball Tournament!

What a day! 🏓💚

We’re taking a look back at the inaugural Tom Douglas Pickleball Tournament, which brought together 25 teams for a day of friendly competition, community spirit and fundraising — with even a little rain thrown into the mix!

Together, participants helped raise an incredible $7,870 for the North Country Cancer Fund, supporting local individuals and families facing cancer in Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties.

Congratulations to our winners, Randy Whalen & PJ Sellers — “The Serve-vivors” 🏆 — and runners-up Jason Lee & Jeremy Goff — “The Big Dill.” 🥒

A special thank-you to everyone who helped make this first tournament such a success, including our volunteers, players and community partners. We’re especially grateful to the Town of Plattsburgh for hosting us and to American Legion Post 1619 for welcoming everyone for the post-tournament reception.

🎗️ HELP WHEN IT’S NEEDED MOST

A cancer diagnosis can bring unexpected financial challenges on top of everything else. The North Country Cancer Fund provides grants to help eligible individuals and families manage expenses while undergoing active cancer treatment.

Assistance may be available for expenses such as:
• Travel for treatment
• Logging for treatment
• Prescription medications
• Rent or mortgage
• Transportation
• Other qualifying needs

To apply, applicants must:
✔️ Live in Clinton, Franklin, or Essex County
✔️ Be currently receiving active cancer treatment
✔️ Meet the program’s financial eligibility guidelines
✔️ Provide documentation verifying treatment, financial need, and eligible expenses

Applications are reviewed monthly. If approved, applicants will be notified by email.
