Today was supposed to be the day we left for Payton's Make a Wish trip. We were going to ring in his 13th birthday (on Sunday) in San Diego at Sea World. Sadly, due to his ongoing health issues, our trip is off. For now anyways.

Instead of feeling super sad about this, we decided this was the best way to feel better and still make it super special. By having a fundraiser lemonade stand for Make a Wish to help give other kids a chance at a life changing experience.

If you are local and want to swing by for a lemonade on his birthday, he would love to see you! If you are far away, we appreciate any distant donations if you'd like to make one. 🫶 Happy Birthday Payton!!!

Payton has been home from the hospital for 1 week now. While his health status is an hour by hour roller coaster, at least his smile and attitude is at baseline. We are grateful for this.

But we are also incredibly grateful for all of our friends who embrace us each time we face the stormy waters of a critical stay. We truly can't say thank you enough for the support. It means THEE WORLD to us. THANK YOU! 🫶

We are beyond thankful for our friends who show up with Food, Coffee, and other Gifts anytime we are stuck in the hospital situation with Payton. I think many families like ours are stubborn or have a hard time answering "Do you guys need anything?"

Our friends brought some meals over this week and said "This time we didn't ask. That way you couldn't say No." I really loved that approach. Sometimes people don't know what help they need or how to accept it. Help anyway. Just show up and go for it.

Planning to use this approach more often in the future as we look to . Thank you Shanna Hatfield Burns and Dru Burns.

Thankful for our York Community. Payton has been struggling through a pretty rough hospital stay again, as many have probably seen from our other pages. He is a fighter and we think it will just take time for his lungs to get through this one.

May we ask all the fans of Peyton Parker Lane Playground to say a prayer for our dear friend Payton. He's battling a pretty tough illness. Thank you!

We are so grateful that our world has been fairly "quiet" in the medical sense lately. Celebrating this "era", even if small, by spreading some around our appointment today. 🫶
