A BIT OF A READ BUT A GOOD ONE

This is not a criticism of anyone—I'm incredibly grateful for the support we've received from Hillsborough County, Florida Government and the dedicated employees who work every day to keep our communities clean.

I was thinking about the value of volunteerism today. Based on publicly available information, a Hillsborough County Public Works employee may earn approximately $17–$29 per hour.

Today at Old Hopewell Road in Lithia, Plant City Trash Bash and our partners had 20 volunteers donate roughly 3 hours of their time. Together, we removed 276 pounds of litter and a trailer load of tires, with the tire weights still being calculated.

Looking at the lowest end of that pay scale, 20 people working for 3 hours at $17 per hour represents over $1,000 worth of labor contributed back to our community in a single morning.

What Plant City Trash Bash does is not replace county employees—it supports them. Every bag of litter removed and every tire pulled from a roadside is one less thing that public works crews have to address. That allows county staff to focus their time, equipment, and expertise on larger infrastructure and maintenance needs throughout Hillsborough County.

Community volunteers 5 Non profits and local government working together is how real change happens. We are proud to do our part to help keep Hillsborough County clean, beautiful, and moving forward.

Just to think in 4 months, Plant City Trash Bash 1 guy who had a vision has been making the connections. Reaching out to government officals. Those connections are paying off. This is becoming a journey now the next full move is coming out from being fiscally sponsored. I have my mind set on some people I want to bring into PCTB as board members and a few have been working along side me every Saturday since the start.

We have an amazing roadway sponsor. CNT Automotive CNT Automotive there donation has kept our heart beating.

Our second sponsor Guardian Property Solutions Company out of lithia florida he comes out and makes the litter disappear right before our eyes.

July 9th Plant City Trash Bash is going to head on over to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful event lsts get some volunteers to show up

🌳 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🌳
 
Join Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation Department, and the City of Tampa Green Team on Thursday, July 9th for a large-scale community tree planting at K-Bar Ranch in New Tampa!
 
Together, we’ll be planting 3,500 native seedling trees that will help improve wildlife habitat, support cleaner waterways, and create a greener Tampa for future generations. We need reliable volunteers to help us achieve this ambitious one-day goal, and every helping hand makes a difference.
 
✅ No experience necessary
✅ All tools and supplies provided
✅ Water, snacks, shade, sunscreen, and bug spray available
✅ Volunteer check-in begins at 7:30 AM
✅ Great opportunity for students seeking volunteer hours

Old hopewell road in lithia/keysville.
Today we had 5 non profits on one roadway. Brandon Roots, Better Together PC, Ronald D. Messer with grizzley army ministries, Preserve Rural Lithia. We also had Hillsborough County, Florida Government officials out and residents from plant city and lithia. Our event lead Renee Abdul did another outstanding job leading our group.

This is what unity in the community looks like. All different walks of life, All different missions set out by these non profit groups. And we came together.

GUYS Guardian Property Solutions CAME OUT AND WE FILLED THE TRAILER WE FILLED THE TRUCK BED. WE WILL SOON HAVE A TOTAL WEIGHT. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS BELOW.

2 weeks we will see you at another event. Come on Plant City we had hillsborough County come out. Let's roll up your sleeves and help out this initiative.

So far we have 262 lbs we will soon have the weight of the tires as i work towards getting a dump to sponsor us and allow us to get rid of those tires someone dumped.

Plant City Trash Bash has made some exciting progress with Hillsborough County, Florida Government.

While they do not provide donations or grant funding for our initiative, we are grateful for their support and willingness to work with us as we explore future projects, including the possibility of creating wildflower corridors throughout our community.

Every day seems to bring another hurdle, but every hurdle we overcome moves us one step closer to something bigger.

What started as one person's dream became a mission. That mission became a community initiative. Now it's time for the next chapter.

I can't build this alone anymore.

Plant City Trash Bash has grown beyond roadside cleanups. We're building partnerships, creating opportunities for environmental improvement, and working toward a cleaner future for Hillsborough County.

I'm looking for dedicated volunteers and community leaders who want to help shape that future.

If every follower donated just $5, Plant City Trash Bash would raise $1425!

That money would go directly toward the things we need to keep cleaning up our community — trash bags, gloves, safety vests, grabbers, water, cleanup supplies, and the costs that come with keeping this mission moving.

I’m not asking one person to carry the whole thing. I’m asking the community to help carry a small piece of it.

$5 may not seem like much, but if we all do a little, it turns into a lot.
