These are just a few photos from today.

Every photo sent to North Texas Wildlife Center's intake photo tells a story.

The photos our finders and wildlife advocates send us are more than images, they're vital pieces of information that help our team understand a patient’s condition, assess the urgency of the situation, and prepare for the care of that baby that will be arriving.

Some of these photos are heartbreaking. Some are awe inspiring. All of them represent a moment when someone stopped, noticed an animal in need, and chose to help. How amazing is that??

Behind every photo is a real wildlife hero, a finder, an advocate, passerby, or community member who cared enough to take action.

We are so so grateful to everyone who takes the time to document, report, and advocate for wildlife. Your photos help us prepare. Your concern helps us respond. Your compassion can change a life.

It's kite season!!

This nestling Mississippi Kite (Patient 26-0552) was displaced from its nest. Examination in our rehab clinic found this young one was dehydrated. We administered fluids that contain necessary nutrients. This Kite is covered by white natal down and its primary feathers are starting to grow in. The Kites will stay under our care until it is old enough to be released.
