We don’t share to many GoFundMe’s, https://gofund.me/f1ca5f099 so you know when we do it is truly a deserving Veteran or First Responder doing everything they can to better their situation for something out of their control; or in this case a Veteran who is a First Responder.
Everett with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH)—a condition where a hole in the diaphragm allows abdominal organs to move into the chest, limiting lung development. Because of this, Everett will need to be delivered at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, undergo surgery shortly after birth, and spend significant time in the NICU as his lungs grow stronger.

April (nurse) and Luis(police officer) will need to relocate to Houston for several months—possibly up to six—as Everett receives the specialized care he needs. This unexpected situation brings not only emotional challenges but also a heavy financial burden, including extended travel, lodging, and medical expenses, all while being away from home and work.

To honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice, be an American worth dying for.
Being an American worth dying for means living a life that honors the ultimate sacrifices made for our freedom.
Be a good father, husband, mother, wife, son, daughter, neighbor and stranger. Open doors for others. Say thank you and please. Help those in need and also help yourself if able. Give 100% of what you’re capable of 100% of the time. Put your grocery carts up!
And never forget, those men and women laid to rest and their families would give anything for just one more day to be with their families; so never take a day for granted.

Weeks ago we posted never take $20 for granted! Well that may also apply to shoes, never take a new pair of shoes for granted.
Today we had an Active Duty Service Member that had served previously and decided to rejoin the military as he has his first kid on the way and needed a job with good health care and steady income.
However upon getting to his new duty-station his only pair of shoes were work shoes and he was in need of a pair of running shoes for Monday Morning PT but had zero dollars to his name.
I’m sure we can all think back when we did not have a penny to our name, even though we were doing everything we could do to better our situation and really could have used a hand up….or even just a pair of shoes.
Within 1 hour of a phone call from this soldier, we were able to pay for a pair a shoes for him, which may have been quicker but he had to walk from the barracks to the PX to get them. We also provided a little more so he could buy some hygiene products as well.
The soldier then said “when I get my first paycheck from military I’m going to pay it forward and donate back to you guys so you can help the next soldier.”
