Hello Friends! Just received a message from Jennifer Hickey who is doing a 50k run in Delaware honoring the Lt’s memory.
As you may remember, his anniversary is Wednesday 5/20. We will be having mass at 12 with a luncheon to follow with some of his men who are able to make it. We look forward to seeing them in this 18th year.

We are happy to announce the 1st Lt’s 2026 scholarship recipient, Lilly Spathelf from Pittston Area High School. She is active in Drama Club,National Honor Society, Multi Media Club, and International Experience Club. Her passions are performing in theater and karate. She is also enrolled in Young Scholars program at Kings College. Lilly has also been a pianist since age 8. Her future will include attending Arcadia College majoring in History. We wish her the very best in attaining her goals.
I think I’ve covered everything for now, but I’ll be back soon with updates on the preparations for the Lt’s annual and only fundraiser, GOLF TOURNAMENT, YAAAAAAY!!!

Hello Friends, it’s been quite a while since I’ve been here, but here I am with updates on our Lt’s Foundation’s activities. First a reminder, that there’s a special section in the Pittston Memorial Library where Jeff’s book collection, and cds, (rock and classical), emphasis on guitar, are available for your reading and listening pleasure.
We did our summer picnic, in collaboration with the W.Pittston Lt Jeffrey DePrimo American Legion, for our vets from Gino Merli and Wilkes Barre VA hospitals. Then, in October we awarded $500 grants to our 3 area high schools’ music departments for specified needs. Love that we can do this in recognizing one of the Lt’s consuming passions. Within a week or two, we will be announcing this year’s scholarship recipient. Also, as you may remember, on May 20th we will be remembering Jeff on the 18th anniversary of his going ā€œhomeā€. Actually, seems and feels like yesterday to us. Hoping to see and be with some of his men to join us for mass and catching up to where they are today. Then, we will be posting our annual golf tournament to be held the 2nd Saturday in August at Sands Springs Golf Club located in Drums. We work on this event starting in the fall, and we know how much our great group of happy and loyal golfers look forward to that day. George will be doing the golf announcement, & signup page as usual, so be sure to keep an eye out for it!
I think I’ve covered everything up to now, but I’ll be back acknowledging our sponsors, donors and whatever I may have missed this time around, lol.
PS. Say a prayer for our country and military!! GOD BLESS THE USA!!

Good morning Friends! This almost completed post tournament message was started yesterday, had to stop, saved the draft but wasn’t able to get it back to finish, so I’m giving it another try lol. We had perfect weather and as I’ve always said THE BEST SPONSORS AND GOLFERS in the valley. So many of them have been with us since the very first event. We have smiles, hugs, and laughter from beginning to end. The Lt’s fund has been replenished because of this only event and I’m sure he’s smiling knowing we can continue funding his interests, children, music and military. We also have a view more Thank yous to our Hole Sponsors:
THE KLEIN FAMILY, LAW OFFICES OF FRANK NOCITO, THE BOMBER FAMILY, PRO REHABILITATION SETVICES and THE LAW OFFICES OF PHILIP GELSO. DONORS: Bernice Markowski, Holly Karichner and the Silinski Family. We are so very grateful to all who made our hero’s event a very successful one.
I believe our next mission may be the Veterans picnic in cooperation with the 1st Lt Jeffrey DePrimo American Legion of W Pittston. We’ll be back with a report if all is worked out with the VA and Gino Merli. Until then, enjoy the rest of summer, stay safe and remember to say GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

Hello Friends and happy Saturday! We’re back with a little update on our hero’s golf tournament. Hope all of our great golfers are getting excited, and have submitted their team’s shirt sizes. I am told the order is going in this week. Just a few more weeks to go and the fun begins. August 9th will be here before we know it. We have received a few more sponsors I’d like to share with you. We received a wonderfully loaded basket from MISSION BBQ which includes a very generous gift card along with their tasty products. If you’d like to try their food, it’s located on Hwy 315. I’ll be taking up a picture of our Lt Jeff DePrimo for their ā€œheroes wallā€, soon. Our other sponsors are Bill & Clairellen Hopple, (Jeffs adopted mom), and John & Kim Donahue and Hines Family. We greatly appreciate all of our supporters. Without them, the tournament wouldn’t be possible. If anyone wants to become a supporter, or make a donation, a check can be made out to Lt DePrimo Memorial Fund and mailed to:
1st Lt Jeff DePrimo Golf Tournament,
% LUZERNE FOUNDATION, 34 S River St , Wilkes Barre PA. 18702.
You’re all caught up on our progress but we still have more to do, so until next update say a prayer for all who have been lost tragically and those left behind these past few months.

GOOD MORNING FRIENDS!! A little late with my update of our activities due to family events. The Lt’s nephew and nieces are keeping life busier than usual. An FYI, we’ll be attending ā€œTHE VETTES FOR VETS CAR SHOWā€, this Sunday, held by The 1st Lt Jeffrey DePrimo American Legion Post, W Pittston, in the AGOLINO’s block on Wyoming Ave. Vettes of all ages will be there along with food, baskets and lots of camaraderie of Vette lovers. The fund raiser helps with the Memorial Day parade, the Veterans picnic for our local VA hospital and Gino Merli in conjunction with our hero’s Fund, held each summer at Francis Slocum park. The Legion also makes contributions to help quite a few veterans causes. Hope we are rain free, fingers crossed.
Now ā€œourā€ next and only annual activity in support of the Lt’s fund is our Golf Tournament! I’ve been told our registration has already been maxed out before we had time to announce it. Guess all our great golfers are anxious to return. It’s being held August 9, at Sands Springs again, and we are hoping it’s as happy and successful as all the years passed. Can’t believe this is our 16th!! We are always in need of Sponsors, and donations to 1st LT JEFFREY DEPRIMO, Memorial Fund,LUZERNE FOUNDATION, 34 S RIVER ST, WILKES BARRE, PA, 18702. Our post is a little long, but we’re all caught up for now. We’re sure we’ll be posting again as our event nears, with ā€œTHANK YOUSā€ to all who make the Tournament and the Lt’s Fund possible. Love to all!!

Hello Friends , Just want to mention that tomorrow marks 17 years since our hero was called to his heavenly reward. We will be celebrating his life at noon mass with family, friends and some of his ā€œbrothersā€ who have made it in every year. We really look forward to seeing them. Jeff loved what he was doing and the camaraderie he shared with them. So, if you think of him just whisper a little prayer for all those who have and are serving to keep us all safe.
