Congratulations to Eagle Scout Ace!

Ace is now the third Eagle Scout from Troop 11 and the first that has been part of the troop's journey since its founding in March 2020.

For their Eagle Scout Service Project, Ace planned, organized, and led volunteers in creating no-sew cat blankets for Lollypop Farm, providing comfort and enrichment for animals awaiting adoption.

Throughout their Scouting career, Ace demonstrated leadership, serving as Senior Patrol Leader for two full terms. They attended Massawepie Scout Camps for five summers and also went to the National Scout Jamboree as part of the council contingent.

When asked about their favorite Scouting experience, Ace points to the Challenge Trophy Camporee (CTC)—and their love of patch trading.

Congratulations, Ace, on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and on all you have accomplished. Your Troop 11 family is proud of you and looks forward to seeing what you do next! 🦅

Last night Troop 11 from Pittsford was attempting to conduct a Board of Review for two scouts but was one qualified adult short. We searched for individuals in the area of the church where we hold our meeting and found not one but two Eagle Scouts, both of whom had grown up in the area, willing to help. They spent 40 minutes of their evening conducting a Board of Review with our committee members. As a result, both scouts will be moving up in rank at our Court of Honor in two weeks. These Eagles both said they considered it their “good turn for the day”. It’s wonderful to see how scouting values carry through into adulthood!

This month, our scouts went on an orienteering and birdwatching campout. They started the day with a quick hike, along the way, they fed birds directly from their own hands! They spent the afternoon hiking around Mendon Ponds Park, being led by the scouts and their new orienteering skills.

Over spring break, a few of our scouts went to a spring break merit badge day. They earned Scouting Heritage, Citizenship in the World, and Citizenship in the Nation. They enjoyed the informative classes and left with two new merit badges to add to their collection.
