As a student in the Business Technology CTE program, Romelo has demonstrated exceptional leadership, creativity, and dedication through his marketing internship, helping generate more than $13,000 in donations and over 40 employer-paid youth job opportunities for this summer. He has achieved these accomplishments while excelling academically, earning industry certifications, serving as a student ambassador, performing in school theater productions, and working toward early graduation.

Since 2021, the company has provided 12 On-the-Job Training opportunities while continuing to invest in workforce growth.

Through manufacturing tours, career fairs, workshops, and student engagement activities, Onyx has introduced hundreds of local students to rewarding careers in manufacturing. Lenox Memorial Middle and High School held their Healthcare Hop event this morning where 67 high school students were able to engage with local professionals representing an array of Healthcare fields! Occupations represented were Audiology, Certified Nursing Assisting, Cardiac Clinician, Dentistry, Emergency Medicine, Healthcare Human Resources, Nutritionist, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Occupational Health Physician, Orthopedics, Pharmacist, Physical Therapy, Radiology and Veterinary Medicine. Special thanks to Brooke Kamienski, Science Teacher and Healthcare Innovation Pathway lead for arranging this vital career exploration opportunity to students! And many thanks to our local healthcare professionals for taking the time to showcase your careers and help inspire our region's future Healthcare leaders!

This morning Kat Toomey and Heather Williams provided a work readiness session for sophomores enrolled in Taconic High School's Business Technology CTE Pathway! Students learned about the importance of employability skills, determined the skills they are proficient in and areas to improve upon and had the opporutnity to explore career interests through CareerVillage's online tools.
