Red Bank Chapter DAR

Red Bank Chapter DAR The Red Bank Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

We are a service organization dedicated to pursuing the objectives of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) - Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education, and Patriotic Endeavor. Red Bank Chapter is named after the Battle of Red Bank (in Gloucester County, New Jersey), where in October 1777, American patriots at Fort Mercer defeated two thousand Hessian troops.

Winning this battle acted as a much-needed morale builder to General George Washington's army, giving new hope and rallying the spirits of the soldiers.

Getting ready for Memorial Day we placed flags for 30 Patriots buried at Old Bethel Cemetery. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Ever wonder where a century of research lives? ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฆ

Since 1960, the Genealogical Society of New Jersey has deposited its extensive manuscript collections at Rutgers Universityโ€™s Special Collections and University Archives. This isn't just a list of namesโ€”itโ€™s a massive archive of family papers, unique research notes, and rare New Jersey documents.

While many of our indexes are available online, these physical files are where the "deep dives" happen. Itโ€™s the place where you might find a handwritten letter from a 4x great-grandfather or a map of a long-lost family farm.

This week is dedicated to honoring the men and women currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, culminating in Armed Forces Day on May 16, 2026. Each branch of the military is recognized on separate days throughout the week, providing a structured way to celebrate their contributions and sacrifices.

Separated by decades. United by service.

We love this special moment between two Navy nurses at the Military Womenโ€™s Memorial.๐Ÿ’™

One is a 108 years old, World War II Navy nurse who once cared for the wounded of her generation, answering the call when our Nation needed her most. The other is serving today, carrying that same commitment forward in a very different world, yet bound by the same purpose.

You can almost feel the history passing between themโ€ฆa shared understanding that doesnโ€™t need words.

For 250 years, military nurses have been there, in every conflict, every crisis, every moment when care and compassion mattered most. This is their legacy. Not just preserved at the Military Women's Memorial, but living on through those who continue to serve.

This National Nurses Week, we honor the ones who came before, the ones serving today, and the ones who will follow.

Because their story is still being written.
