🪓💚 BATTLE AXE IS HERE! ❤️🖤

There’s a LOT of history behind this rivalry!

Did you know the Battle Axe tradition began after the 1957 Pipestone–Luverne game had to be canceled because of a flu epidemic? Pipestone’s coach gave Luverne a battle axe as a gift to honor the Cardinals’ undefeated season. From then on, the axe became the traveling trophy the two communities battle for each year.

The rivalry has now been going for nearly 70 years, with generations of Arrows and Cardinals growing up knowing exactly what that axe means! 🪓

And we want to see how YOU show your Battle Axe spirit! 👀

📸 DROP A PHOTO IN THE COMMENTS OF YOUR BATTLE AXE OUTFIT!

Old-school gear… new-school gear…Battle Axe shirts… crazy spirit wear… kiddos dressed up… WE WANT TO SEE IT ALL! 💚🖤

Let’s see those Arrow colors and all that Battle Axe pride! 🏹🪓
