Meet Chester:

For older dogs, small problems don’t always stay small.

When 14-year-old Chester came to Animal Fix Clinic, he had a large ulcerated mass on one of his toes that had become increasingly uncomfortable. His owner was also worried about another growing mass on his front leg.

Like many senior dogs, Chester had developed a few lumps and bumps over the years. But despite his age, he was still bright, friendly, wagging his tail, and enjoying life at home.

His owner wanted to help him while he was still feeling good.

During a single procedure, the veterinary team amputated the affected toe and removed the second mass. Chester recovered well and went home the same day with his family.

A few days later, his owner wrote to say how grateful he was to see Chester comfortable again.

For senior pets, surgery is not always about curing everything. Sometimes it’s about comfort, mobility, and giving a dog the ability to keep enjoying normal life for as long as possible.

Chester is a very good boy.

Our Veterinary Assistants, Ayashe and Aurora, have been incredibly important members of our team for over two years. Their kindness, dedication, and compassion make a difference every single day — not only for our patients, but also for the people and team members around them.

Their hard work and commitment help us provide the highest level of care to every animal who comes through our doors.

We are so grateful for everything Ayashe and Aurora bring to our clinic. Thank you both for the care you give so generously every day. We truly appreciate you and are so lucky to have you as part of our team.

Happy Veterinary Assistant Week!

Please help us say a big thank you to for donating 189 LBS worth of treats to our clinic. Their support will offset the cost of cat treats for the entire year.

We were blown away by their generosity, and we know that our patients are just as excited as us. Thank you so much for your support!

Meet Rocklin

Rocklin is an 8-year-old Chihuahua whose owner had been watching a tumor on his leg grow.

She’d already taken him to two veterinarians, but the estimates were out of reach.

So she kept watching it get bigger.
She emailed us:
“Do you offer surgical removal for this?”

When Rocklin came in, we also found an undescended testicle.
We took care of that too.

Three days later, his owner wrote:
“Rocklin is doing GREAT!!! By day 3 he is almost completely back to himself. He’s trotting and even running.”

Grey Muzzle funding helped Rocklin get the surgery he needed.
Donations help us keep saying yes to cases like this.
Good boy, Rocklin.

A bit of good news. We received an Access to Care grant from national nonprofit .

We’ll put it to work the way we always do, helping pets get the surgery they need while staying with the people who love them.

A partnership like this helps move cases forward, alongside contributions from individual donors.

Thanks to Petco Love for supporting this work.

Meet Oso

We first met Oso in 2019, when he came in for a neuter. Now he’s over 14.

He came back to us with two masses—one along his side that had ulcerated, and another near the perianal area—along with significant dental disease.

At his age, surgery often comes with the expectation of an extensive (and expensive) workup first.

We discussed risks, anesthesia, and quality of life. The goal was simple: make him more comfortable.

We removed both masses and addressed what we could for his teeth. He went home the same day.

Four days later, his owner wrote:
“He is doing great. Eating and drinking fine. Walking no problem!”

He’s back at home, without an infected skin mass getting in the way.
