Immediate Help Needed: Supporting a Homeless Mom & Baby
My home has become a temporary sanctuary for a homeless mother and her 5-month-old infant. They are in urgent need of basic necessities, and I'm hoping our community can rally to support them.

Their most pressing needs are:

Diapers (Size 3): This is a huge priority!

Baby Clothes & Supplies: Any gently used baby clothing (for a 5-month-old), wipes, and baby essentials are greatly appreciated.

Food: Non-perishable food items or grocery gift cards.

Adult Clothing: For the mom.

Beyond these immediate items, the biggest hurdle is securing stable housing. If you have any leads on housing resources, local shelters, or programs that could assist a single mother, please share that information with me privately.

This hit me pretty hard for some reason, and I thought I would share in case anyone else has the same reaction. The crazy part is instead of feeling bad for me, I feel bad for them that something thing or things happened so traumatizing that they have become something so horrible and may never enjoy the only life they've been given, and also with kids they are grooming them to be the same way. Now that's sad.

If anyone has experienced this please reach out. I have and am going through this, and I am here for support, and encouragement. We could start a group chat, anything to help anyone going through this because the reality is that this is the worst pain I've ever felt in my life and being able to discuss it with others that have lived or currently living with this pain is a way to heal. Please reach out.

Please send out the word to those of you that are willing. MNM Foundation is working in Piunellas County to advocate for, and assist those in crisis. Please reach out, or pass our information on to someone you know that is in need. We are in dire need of donations to acquire the supplies and means to deliver them. Please go to our website to donate, or drop off items at 4050 78th Avenue North, Apt 1, Pinellas Park, FL, 33781. We accept all donation types, and will provide a donation receipt you may use at tax time.

Current needs from most important on down the line:

Transportation - We need a van for transportation of clients to meetings, interviews, medical appointments, community events, weekly charging stations, and fuel and maintenance costs, and bus passes and gas cards for emergencies.

Homeless Prevention - Rental, deposit, utility, budgeting, employment, going back to school assistance in order to stabalize the home, and keep them from falling behind. There are no income requirements. A crisis is a crisis regardess of how much you make.

Homelessness - Homeless Kits (Tents, sleeping bags, hygiene kits (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brush, comb, deoderant, paper, pen, stamps), socks, underwear, towels, shoes, pants, shirts, and sweatshirts/coats for winter)

Community Development - Gift Cards for the Prject Street Sweep where our unsheltered neighbors do their part to ensure our community stays clean, we go around every week and encourage those individuals to keep the areas they frequent free of debris. For their time engaging in cleaning up designated areas theywill receive a donated gift card for $5, $10, $15, or $20 dollars. Please send gift cards to our address in the commercial, or electronically to [email protected].

Volunteering - we go out in the community every week to charge phones in the community for those that can't get to a fast food restaraunt, or coffee shop. We also need help with marketing, and fundraising. Any advice or best practices is always welcome. We pride ourselves on being self-aware. We constantle re-evaluate our path, to ensure we are still operating by the morale code we established from the beginning.
