The Patriot Foundation honors the memory of Faison Shaw Kuester, Jr., who passed away on March 1, 2025. Faison served as a 1st Lieutenant with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and earned a Bronze Star, and he was a proud patriot and veteran all his life. He also built the Golf Pride Global Headquarters in Pinehurst.

We're deeply grateful to his wife Carol and their family for choosing the Patriot Foundation for memorial gifts in his honor. His legacy lives on in every student those gifts help. You too can honor his memory by donating at: PatriotFoundation.org/Donate-1

It was truly an honor to welcome both Congressmen Richard Hudson and Pat Harrigan to speak at our annual Patriot Reception.

Rep. Hudson has represented North Carolina's 9th District since 2013. He represents the largest military base in the world and has made supporting active-duty troops, veterans and their families a priority.

Rep. Harrigan is a West Point graduate and combat-decorated Green Beret who earned two Bronze Stars for his leadership in Afghanistan. He now represents North Carolina's 10th District. Thank you, Congressman, for your service then and now.

The Patriot Foundation was proud to honor Bill Boddie Jr., Vice President of Operations Services at Boddie-Noell Enterprises at our Annual Patriot Reception this year.

BNE got its start right here in Fayetteville in 1962, when Bill's grandfather Mayo Boddie helped open one of the first Hardee's restaurants. More than 60 years later, it's still a family-led company, and it still runs on a simple idea: Simply Doing What Is Right.

For our military families, that idea has made a real difference. Since 2009, BNE has raised about $800,000 for the Patriot Foundation, thanks to their employees, Hardee's guests, and the Boddie family.

Bill accepted this recognition on behalf of everyone who made that partnership possible. Thank you, Bill and the entire BNE team, for standing with the families of those who serve.

Thank you to every sponsor who joined us at this year's Annual Patriot Reception.

Because of your generosity, the evening raised more than $130,000 for the Patriot Foundation! That money goes straight to supporting college scholarships for the children of our nations fallen, injured, wounded, and seriously ill service members.

We're grateful for every business, family, and friend who showed up and gave. You made this one of our best nights of the year, and our military families will feel it.
