RESOURCE FRIDAY🔔

It’s Friday and you know what that means👀Deployed Love wants to put a spotlight on a resource that we believe could be helpful to the service members and families we serve.

This weeks resource is The Vet Way Foundation. They are an organization that works generously to create access to stable homes for veterans. Most notably, TVFW has opened The Chesapeake House for Women Veterans, which serves as a safe place for female veterans to heal and rebuild, if needed.

In addition to housing, TVFW is committed to connecting veterans and military families to the support and resources they need through community events. Actually, this December, The Vet Way Foundation is holding their 2026 Wrapped in Care event. As their flyer states, they’d like to reach at least 500 Veteran and/or Military households providing winter kits, gift cards, and other necessary resources, as a way to acknowledge their service and show appreciation.

We love serving our military community and we enjoy shining a light on other organizations and resources that are passionate about doing the same❤️

🇺🇸🔒 OPSEC: OUR FAMILIES ARE PART OF THE MISSION! 🔒🇺🇸

Our Families may not wear the uniform, but when it comes to protecting the mission, YOU have an important role too! ❤️🤍💙

🪖 WHAT IS OPSEC?
OPSEC stands for Operations Security. Simply put, it means protecting important information that could be pieced together and used to learn about military operations, movements, personnel or activities.

🔐 WHY DOES OPSEC MATTER?
Sometimes the smallest details can reveal a much bigger picture. A date here, a location there, a photo in the background or a comment about when your Service member is leaving or returning may seem harmless—but when combined with other information, it can reveal more than we intended.

🏠 FAMILIES—YOU ARE PART OF THE OPSEC TEAM!

Before you POST, SHARE, TAG or CHECK IN, stop and ask:

🇺🇸 Am I sharing specific deployment or movement dates?
🇺🇸 Does my photo show locations, schedules, documents, badges, equipment or other sensitive details?
🇺🇸 Am I sharing information about where a unit is going or when they are returning?
🇺🇸 Am I tagging a location or posting something in real time that shouldn’t be public?
🇺🇸 Did this information come from an official, approved source for public release?
🇺🇸 Does the person I am sharing this information with need to know?

❤️ When in doubt—leave it out!

We know our Families are proud of their Service members—and you should be! Just remember that protecting information is another way we protect our Service members, our Families and the mission.

A New Chapter for Deployed Love, and Our Hearts Are So Full!

We are beyond excited to officially welcome our newly voted-in Deployed Love Board of Directors!

At last night's board meeting, we had the opportunity to bring together an incredible group of individuals who believe in our mission, believe in our military families, and are ready to help take Deployed Love to the next level!

What makes this group so special isn't just the experience and knowledge they bring to the table. It's the heart behind why they're here.

Our new board is made up of veterans and military spouses alike, individuals who understand firsthand the sacrifices, challenges, and unique experiences that come with military life.

Among this incredible group, we have a former Deployed Love volunteer who once served as a coordinator, someone who has already poured their heart into our mission. We have someone who was there at our very first Holiday Mini event back in 2017 and has continued to believe in what we're building, becoming a dedicated sponsor at one of our locations for several years now. And we have others who simply have that incredible passion and desire to give back to the military community and make a difference.

Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Different journeys. But one shared heart for military families.

And that is what makes this next chapter so exciting!

Deployed Love started with a simple belief that military families deserve connection, community, and a place where they feel seen, supported, and never alone. Over the years, that belief has grown into something so much bigger than we could have imagined.

And now, as we look toward the future, we have big dreams. More connections. More communities. More opportunities to show up for military families in meaningful ways. More impact.

But big dreams take people who are willing to dream alongside you, roll up their sleeves, and help turn those dreams into reality.

And we truly believe we have found those people.

To our new board members, thank you. Thank you for saying yes. Thank you for believing in Deployed Love, for bringing your unique experiences and perspectives, and for choosing to invest your time and talents into something that means so much to so many.

We are so incredibly grateful to have you as part of this journey, and we cannot wait to see what we accomplish together!

Here's to honoring where we've been, celebrating how far we've come, and building something even more incredible for the military families we serve.

The future of Deployed Love is bright, and we are just getting started!

If you’re a military family with a service member who will be away during the holidays due to deployment, rotation, TDY, or other circumstances keeping them away, we would love for you to apply! ❤️ Gold Star families are welcome to apply, too. 🇺🇸❤️

We want to help bring a little extra holiday magic to your family and create beautiful memories to cherish, even when someone you love can't be home for the holidays. 🎄🥹

📸 Holiday mini sessions are FREE!
🎅 Enjoy holiday fun with Santa and Mrs. Claus, crafts, and sweet treats!
