Tachyra Thornton-Harris, affectionately known as “Chy Chy the MUA,” is a Pine Bluff native, self-taught makeup artist, and entrepreneur behind BEAT x Chy. Her interest in makeup artistry began in 2018, but it was during the pandemic that she decided to fully invest in her craft and turn her passion into a business.

Inspired by other beauty influencers, Tachyra took a leap of faith—investing in herself, sharpening her skills, and building her clientele from the ground up. What began with zero clients has grown to more than 1,000, fueled by her commitment to networking, cultivating meaningful business relationships, and creating an experience that keeps clients coming back.

Through BEAT x Chy, Tachyra’s mission is simple: to accentuate each person’s God-given beauty and take it to the next level—one face at a time. She proudly embraces her identity as a Black woman, entrepreneur, and BOSS who believes in living out loud, showing up authentically, and finding joy in being unapologetically yourself.

Her artistry is for anyone age 16 and older who desires to wear makeup, experience a confidence boost, or simply feel good about themselves. She is especially passionate about creating an inclusive and affirming space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community and using her growing platform to amplify and empower those who have too often felt unheard, unseen, or underestimated.

Another shadow experience tomorrow for a future cosmetologist with Shakeia Brown who is the owner of KB's Hair Therapy!

She obtained her cosmetology license at Paul Mitchell in Little Rock and specializes in promoting healthy hair care, natural hair, hair color as well as traditional installs and wigs customization.
