Grateful for the delicious meal I cooked yesterday and the joy of creating something wonderful in my own kitchen. 🍽️♥️

Grateful to be a member of New Grace Cathedral, growing in faith, surrounded by love, and finding my place in God’s family. ⛪🙏🕊️

Grateful for a warm apartment and the comfort of having a place to call home. 🏡♥️

Grateful for coffee! ☕😂♥️ Some blessings are simple, but oh, so wonderful!

Grateful for a surprise package coming from Bill & Carol! What a sweet and unexpected blessing. Thank You, God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and all the beautiful ways love shows up in my life through the people You place along my path. 🎁♥️🙏✨

October 13, 2026 — Journaling with Spirit & Assistant Pastor Zimba 🐾📖

📖 Matthew 9 & 10 — A New Season of Faith

As I step into this new season of my life and become a member of New Grace Cathedral, Matthew 9 and 10 have jumped out at me. ❤️🕊️

I want to slow down, listen, and understand what the Holy Spirit may be inviting me to see in these chapters.

Matthew 9 reminds me that Jesus calls ordinary people, meets people where they are, heals, forgives, and leads with compassion.

He called Matthew while Matthew was still sitting at the tax collector’s booth. Jesus didn’t wait for Matthew to become perfect before inviting him to follow.

What a beautiful reminder that God can meet me right where I am.

I am still growing. I am still healing. I am still learning how to surrender, trust, and walk in wisdom. My story is not finished, and I don’t have to have every answer before I take the next step.

Then I come to the words about the harvest being plentiful but the workers being few.

My heart returns to the people God has placed in my life—the friends I’ve cared for, the people I’ve encouraged, and those who have needed someone simply to show up.

I think about Michele, Elaine, My Son & My Parents, and all the moments when love meant being present, even when I didn’t know what to do.

I also recognize that compassion must include wisdom and healthy boundaries. I can love people deeply without believing I must carry everything for everyone.

Jesus, teach me to love as You love.

Matthew 10 continues the lesson. Jesus sends His disciples out to serve, reminding them that they have received freely and are to give freely.

Lord, everything good in my life has come through Your grace. My recovery, my growth, my ability to write, my desire to help others, and the love I have to share are gifts I want to use with humility.

I don’t want to serve for recognition. I want to serve because love has changed my heart.

As I become part of New Grace Cathedral, I pray that You will show me where I belong, how I can contribute, and where my gifts may be useful.

I don’t need to rush into a position or prove myself. I want to remain teachable, grounded in Your Word, and attentive to the quiet guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Perhaps this new season isn’t about doing more.

Perhaps it’s about becoming more available to Your love.

More willing to listen.

More willing to serve.

More willing to trust You with what comes next.

And more willing to rest when You call me to be still.

My prayer is to follow Jesus one step at a time, with a compassionate heart, a humble spirit, and the courage to go where He leads.

Lord, if there is a place for me to serve, open the door in Your time. If there is something I need to learn first, give me patience. If I need to rest, help me receive rest without guilt.

Let my life reflect Your love—not just through what I say, but through how I treat people.

I am grateful for this new chapter, my church family, and the opportunity to continue growing in faith.

I don’t know everything You have planned, Lord, but I trust You to guide me.

I have received so much grace. May I share that grace freely.

Grateful for God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit—for love that corrects me, comforts me, and carries me. 🙏🕊️

Grateful for a wonderful day yesterday with my church family and for the opportunity to bring a little sunshine to my dear friend Elaine. ⛪♥️🌻

Grateful for sleeping in and waking up to the rain. I love rainy days—the sound, the stillness, and the invitation to slow down. ☔️🍂

Grateful for my sweet Zimba, her cuddles, and the love she brings into my life. 🐾🥰

Grateful to surrender, trust God’s timing, and allow Him to unfold my day. 🙏🕊️

Grateful for the sweet souls who offer kindness, lend a hand, or simply share a smile. We never know who is holding on minute by minute. A smile offered to a stranger may be the kindness that helps them through. ♥️🤗

Grateful for you, the beautiful soul taking a moment to read my gratitude list. Thank you for sharing this little space with me. 🦋✨

Grateful for another day to spread kindness, laughter, and compassion to everyone I encounter. May my words be gentle and my heart remain open. 🌻♥️

October 12th, 2026 — Journaling with Spirit & Assistant Pastor Zimba 🐾📖

New Mercies, Trust & a Humble Heart 🌅🕊️

This morning, I sat down to meditate and quiet my heart before God. Afterward, I opened my Bible to Lamentations 3:22–23:

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”

What a beautiful reminder to begin this day. Whatever yesterday held, today brings fresh mercy—another opportunity to receive His love, learn, and grow. ♥️

As I continued reading, Lamentations 3:25–26 reminded me of the goodness of seeking Him and waiting quietly. That speaks to this season of surrendering my plans, listening, and trusting Him to guide my next faithful step.

These words about mercy sit within a book filled with grief. I can bring my sorrow and unanswered questions to God, too. Faith leaves room for tears, and hope can remain with me through them.

Then my reading brought me to Jesus’ words in Luke 12:22:

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.”

Jesus points to the birds and lilies as reminders of God’s care. Luke 12:30–31 reminds me that my Father knows what I need and calls me to seek His kingdom. When worry rises, I can return to prayer and take the next step with trust. 🌿

Luke 12:34 asks me to consider where my treasure—and my heart—truly rests. I want to invest my time and energy in love, kindness, generosity, and the work God places before me.

In Luke 13:6–9, the fig tree receives time and tending so it may bear fruit. That gives me something to reflect on: growth needs care, patience, and a willingness to change. May the mercy I receive bear fruit in how I live. 🌳♥️

Jesus’ compassion toward the woman who had been bent over for eighteen years in Luke 13:10–17 also touched my heart. He saw her and called her forward. Her suffering mattered to Him. May I remain attentive to the people around me who need compassion and care.

And Luke 14:11 brings me back to humility:

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

I can release the need to prove myself and keep serving with an open heart. Luke 14:12–14 reminds me to extend kindness to those who cannot repay me, making room for people who are too often overlooked.

The teaching about counting the cost in Luke 14:28–33 invites me to approach my commitments prayerfully and honestly. As I discern what comes next, I want to consider what each step requires and remain willing to surrender my plans to God.

Peace. Truth. Wisdom. Compassion. Light. Love. These are the words I want to carry from my quiet time into my actions today. 🪽🕊️

And Assistant Pastor Zimba continues her faithful ministry of cuddles and love. 🐾🥰

🙏 Prayer

Father, thank You for mercies that are new every morning. Quiet my heart and help me trust Your care when worry rises. You know my needs and the questions I carry.

Give me wisdom to discern my next steps, patience to wait, and courage to act when it is time. Help me approach my commitments honestly and follow Jesus with a willing heart.

Keep me humble, teachable, and generous. Tend the places in me that still need healing, and let my life bear the fruit of Your love. Help me notice those who are hurting, welcome those who feel excluded, and serve with kindness.

Comfort those who are grieving, strengthen caregivers, and surround those who feel alone with love. May the peace I receive in Your presence shape how I speak, listen, and care for others.

I place this day and all I carry into Your hands. Great is Your faithfulness.

October 11th, 2026 — Journaling with Spirit & Assistant Pastor Zimba 🐾📖

Reading No Matter What by Jill Baughan & Immortal Diamond by Richard Rohr 📚💎

Rooted in Christ, Making Room for Joy ♥️

Today’s reading and scriptures invite me to notice how God’s love meets me—in quiet reflection, in friendships, in laughter, and in the simple joy of Zimba curled beside me. 🐾🥰

Proverbs 27:9 reminds me of the sweetness of heartfelt friendship. I’m thankful for Caron, the beautiful artwork she gave me, and the kindness that makes an ordinary day feel special. Romans 12:15 invites me to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. There is room in a loving heart for both laughter and tears.

Even when Elaine and I share lunch and laugh together, I can recognize something precious: being present with someone is a way of loving them. We don’t always need perfect words. Sometimes we need companionship, a listening ear, and a reason to smile. ♥️

Romans 12:10 calls me to love with devotion and honor others. Today, I want to celebrate people—to appreciate their gifts, encourage their hearts, and let them know they matter.

My reflection on Immortal Diamond brings me back to the life I have in Christ. John 1:1–8 speaks of the Word, life, and light. First Corinthians 8:6 reminds me that my life comes from God through Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:15–20 points me toward Christ, through whom all things were created and in whom all things hold together. 💎🕊️

Ephesians 1:3–14 reminds me that I am loved, redeemed, and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 1:1–3 turns my attention to Jesus, who reveals God’s glory and sustains all things. These passages invite me to rest more deeply in His care while allowing that love to shape my actions.

John 20:29 encourages faith even when I cannot see everything clearly. In John 4:42, the people come to know Jesus through hearing Him themselves. I, too, want to keep growing in a faith I live and practice each day.

Revelation 21:6 and 22:13 remind me that God is the beginning and the end. Ephesians 3:20–21 opens my heart to possibilities beyond what I can presently imagine, through His power at work within us.

Today, I can remain attentive, welcome joy, and take the next faithful step.

Prayer 🙏

Father, thank You for friendship, laughter, and the gift of Your presence. Keep me rooted in Christ and open to Your guidance. Help me celebrate others wholeheartedly, sit gently with those who are hurting, and recognize opportunities to serve.

Let Your light shape my thoughts, words, and actions. As I surrender the questions I still carry, give me patience, discernment, and peace. Thank You for the life You are nurturing within me and the love I can share today.

In Jesus’ name, amen. ♥️🕊️

🙏 A Prayer for Our Pastors
Heavenly Father, today we lift up the shepherds You have given us. Thank You for calling them, equipping them, and trusting them with Your people.
Lord, bless our pastors and their families. When they are weary, renew their strength. When they carry burdens we never see, be their refuge. When they pour out, fill them back up to overflowing.
Give them wisdom beyond their years, courage for the hard days, and joy that reminds them why they said yes. Protect their marriages, their children, and their homes.
And Lord, teach us to honor them well — not just today, but every day — with our prayers, our encouragement, and our love.

Grateful I can laugh at myself! While rushing through my grocery order, I somehow swapped my dried seaweed for SIX boxes of stuffing—and missed the veggies for my miso soup! 🤣🙃 Apparently, stuffing is on the menu sometime soon! I spotted a recipe for bacon-wrapped stuffing bites baked in mini muffin pans, so I guess my grocery mishap has inspired my next kitchen adventure! 🥓👩‍🍳🤣

Grateful I got creative and made shrimp egg rolls with stir-fried vegetables and brown rice instead. So good! 🍤🥕🌾

Grateful I had enough to bring lunch for Elaine and me the next day. Scrumptious food tastes even better when it’s shared! 🤗♥️

Grateful for the joy, laughter, and love in my life. ❤️

Grateful I get to see T, my church family, Elaine, Caron & Marilyn today! ⛪🌻🤗

Grateful for the best dog ever—my sweet Zimba! We had so much fun, and when we finally settled down for cuddles, she poured on the love. Those little moments mean everything to me. 🐾😘♥️

October 10th, 2026 — Journaling with Spirit & Assistant Pastor Zimba 🐾📖

Reading No Matter What by Jill Baughan & Immortal Diamond by Richard Rohr 📚💎

Today I am reflecting on compassion, caring for my body, receiving rest, and letting love guide my walk with God.

Colossians 3:12 reminds me to clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. These are qualities I want to carry into my conversations, my caregiving, and the way I treat myself. I can keep learning, admit when I am wrong, and let grace soften my response. ♥️

First Corinthians 6:19–20 reminds me that my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Caring for it is part of honoring God. After so much serving, grieving, and doing, I am learning to listen when my body needs rest. Jeremiah 31:25 reminds me that God replenishes the weary. I can pause and receive His care. 🌿🕊️

John 16:7 reminds me of Jesus’ promise of the Helper. As I surrender my questions about school, my writing, and what comes next, I pray for discernment and patience. I do not have to settle every question today. I can listen, seek wisdom, and take the next faithful step.

First Corinthians 13:13 brings me back to faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. Whatever my assignment becomes, I want love to shape how I live it. May someone feel heard, respected, and cared for because of how I meet them today. 🙏♥️

John 10:16 and John 17:21–23 draw my heart toward unity. Jesus speaks of one flock and prays that His followers may be one. I want my faith to deepen my compassion for others and help me recognize the dignity of people whose stories differ from mine.

First Corinthians 15 reminds me of resurrection hope. Grief is part of my story, and so is the hope I hold in Christ. Mark 4:33–34 reminds me that understanding can unfold through teaching and quiet time with Jesus. I am making room to keep learning. 📖💎

One quote from my reading stayed with me:

These words invite me to slow down and notice God’s love in the beauty around me—the autumn light, a kind smile, a moment of laughter, and Zimba beside me. Even while I wait for direction, there is beauty here to receive. I can pause, give thanks, and let these ordinary gifts bring joy to my day. 🐾🍂♥️

I have become a living testimony of the grace that has carried me. Joy is my new language, and today I am practicing it through gratitude, tenderness, and love.

🙏 Prayer

Heavenly Father, I place my future in Your hands. Thank You for carrying me through grief, healing, and change. Guide my decisions about school, my writing, my work, and the ways You are calling me to serve.

Clothe me with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Help me honor my body, receive rest, and offer care without exhausting myself. When I make a mistake, give me the humility to acknowledge it and the courage to make amends.

Holy Spirit, help me discern Your guidance. Give me patience when answers take time and wisdom to recognize the next faithful step. Keep my heart grounded in faith, hope, and love.

Open the doors that lead toward Your purpose, and help me accept Your direction when a door closes. Let my life bear good fruit through the way I listen, speak, serve, and love.

Open my eyes to the beauty of Your creation and the quiet gifts of each day. Help me receive them with gratitude and share that joy with others.

Thank You for freedom, light, peace, and the joy I am learning to receive. In Jesus’ name, amen. Alleluia! 🙏♥️🕊️
