🐾 WE’RE BACK IN PHOENIX — AND IT’S TIME TO DO HIS WORK! ❤️

After a summer on the road, Do His Work is back home and getting ready for another Arizona winter serving our unhoused neighbors and the pets who never leave their side.

We’re kicking things off with our Warm Paws, Warm Hearts Winter Supply Drive!

🐶 FOR THE PETS
• New or gently used blankets
• Dry & canned dog food
• Treats & toys
• Pop-up food/water bowls
• Leashes, collars & harnesses
• Waste bags
• Dog boots and sweaters

🧼 FOR THEIR PEOPLE
• Travel-size hygiene products
• Toothbrushes & toothpaste
• Deodorant
• Body wipes
• Hand warmers
• New socks
• Bottled water & individually packaged snacks

🚫 PLEASE — NO CLOTHING DONATIONS AT THIS TIME.
Last year our community was incredibly generous, but clothing became difficult for our small nonprofit to sort, store and distribute. This year we’re staying focused on the supplies we can get directly into people’s hands.

Every blanket, bowl, bag of food and hygiene kit helps us meet someone where they are — with dignity, kindness and no judgment.

🐾 CANE IS SAFE — AFTER ALMOST TWO MONTHS! ❤️

On June 24th, a family traveling from Alaska to Texas stayed at the campground where we’re working when their cat, Cane, accidentally got out. They had to continue their journey without him, and we’ve been keeping an eye out ever since.

Today — BAM! There he was near one of the cabins! 😳🐈

A little muffin bribery 😂, a humane trap, and help from a local shelter later… WE GOT HIM!

I called his family in Texas and they were OVERJOYED. After nearly two months, they thought he was gone forever.

Considering the bears, eagles and other Montana wildlife around here, Cane is one lucky little dude. ❤️

Now the shelter and his family are working on getting him HOME TO TEXAS!

Our mission may look a little different while we’re in Montana, but when there’s an animal that needs help… Do His Work. 🐾❤️

Sometimes the mission looks a little different than expected… ❤️🐾

When we partnered with a local shelter to set a humane trap here at the KOA, our goal was to help find Scout, a camper’s missing cat.

Well… Scout had other plans.

Instead, we trapped Munchkin—a feral cat born here at the campground last year who only has three legs.

We knew this was an opportunity to make a difference.

Thanks to an amazing partnership with a local shelter and veterinarian, Munchkin will receive the medical care needed, be evaluated, and instead of returning to life outdoors, will have the chance to be adopted into a loving home. What started as one rescue turned into another.

While our summer in Montana hasn’t brought many opportunities to help unhoused pets like we do back home in Arizona, we’ve found other ways to Do His Work—feeding horses, caring for ducks and wildlife, supporting our campground community, and now helping change the future for a special little three-legged cat.

Sometimes the rescue you were looking for isn’t the one you find… but it turns out to be exactly the one that needed you.

🐾 Well, Sasha made my day today.

Since coming to Montana, I haven’t run into many unhoused pet owners—which is actually a good thing. But when you’re traveling with a truck full of supplies ready to give away, it means opportunities to help have been few and far between.

Today outside Albertsons in Livingston, I met Sasha and her parents. Since they’re traveling on foot, they could only take a little food, but Sasha did leave with a new squeaky toy. ❤️

Just a reminder that Do His Work is still going strong, even while we’re work camping in Montana for the summer. We’re also still looking for volunteers back home in Phoenix to help us continue serving unhoused pet owners and their pets.

This Memorial Day weekend, we realized there aren’t many unhoused pets in the Livingston area needing support right now — and honestly, that’s a blessing. So instead of letting the donations sit, we decided to spread some joy right here at the campground. 🐾❤️

Thanks to the kindness of our supporters, we handed out toys, treats, and stuffed animals to pets staying at the KOA. So many wagging tails, happy faces, and spoiled pups this weekend.

Do His Work may travel city to city, but the mission stays the same: helping pets and the people who love them however we can. 🇺🇸🐶

Today we met Bella and Apache and their dad who’s living the tent life, drifting through Montana and living off the land. Not every story looks the same, but kindness still matters.

With snow coming in over the next couple days, both pups got hooked up with new harnesses, leashes, collars, sweaters, treats, and some warm blankets to help keep them comfortable through the cold Montana nights.

Moments like this are why we do what we do. Dogs don’t care where home is, they just want to stay close to their person. ❤️🐾

Sometimes it’s the little things. ❤️

I’ve carried this red harness around trying to fit it on probably 5 or 6 different dogs, and every single time it was too big. Today at the KOA, we met Brutus. While he’s not homeless, his family was using a rope because they didn’t have a proper harness for him. The second I saw him, I just knew this harness was finally meant for someone.

Sure enough… it fit Brutus like a glove. 🐾

We got to share a little about Do His Work, love on a really sweet boy, and hopefully make walks a little safer and more comfortable for him and his family.

Funny how things seem to end up with exactly who needs them. ❤️
