TONIGHT! Join Youth for Troops in supporting veterans. 5:30-7:00 PM
On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, volunteers will work on various projects to support veterans including plastic mats for homeless veterans, care bags for homeless or at-risk veterans, move-in baskets for veterans transitioning from homelessness to apartments, and craft projects for local veteran homes and events.

Volunteers help by sorting and cutting plastic bags and making plarn balls. The balls are made into mats and distributed to homeless veterans across the state. You do not need to know how to crochet to help with this project--sorting and cutting are big parts of this project! Volunteers will also work on other projects that support veterans.

All ages are welcome to volunteer at these free community service projects events. Bring your family, your neighbors, or your small group and enjoy good conversations while helping those in need.

A special thank you to Lerner and Rowe Gives Back for sponsoring veteran projects this year.

Bags can be dropped off at the Anthem Community Center and the Anthem Civic Building. Flattened bags and cut strips are greatly appreciated!

Today and tomorrow - Youth for Troops needs help holding flags to honor one of our own.

Please consider helping by holding flags to welcome family and friends to the memorial service at Cross of Christ Church on Sunday, April 19th. Flags will by held from 12:30 to 1:00 PM to greet the attendees. We also need help honoring him at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Monday, April 20th from 8:45 - 9:30 AM.

If you have participated in or enjoyed watching the Daisy Mountain Veterans Parade, you can thank MaryAnn and Tom Derryberry. They started that local tradition many years ago, as well as Daisy Mountain Veterans. Their efforts have created years of memories for our community. Please consider holding flags for the Derryberry family and honoring Tom.

Youth for Troops would like to share that our dear friend, Tom Derryberry, has passed away. Sometimes we are blessed with friends that are family -- Tom was family. Tom was a Marine, an outstanding volunteer, and had the best jokes. His smile and wit will be missed at our breakfasts and lunches. We love Tom and MaryAnn and they love us. Our thoughts are with all his family and friends.

❤️🇺🇸❤️ WELCOME HOME ❤️🇺🇸❤️

Huge THANK YOU to Trayce Gregoire Photography for these amazing photos! Trayce is a USMC veteran that was arriving at Sky Harbor on Thursday at the same time as the Honor Flight Arizona landed. She offered to capture this homecoming and share the beautiful photos. Thank you!!!

**We have more photos available! Facebook limits us, so email [email protected] and we can send a link to all the photos.**

Did you hear the cheering? Thank you to Honor Flight Arizona and Arizona Patriot Guard Riders for allowing us to help celebrate this homecoming. Youth for Troops helped welcome home the first all-female Honor Flight Arizona group of Vietnam Veterans flying home from Washington D.C. last Thursday. It was wonderful to hear the cheering and clapping for these heroes!

Contact us to be on our email list to hold flags for patriotic events and memorials. Upcoming volunteer opportunities are listed in our website calendar at youthfortroops.org or email us at [email protected].

Join us for the next Honor Flight Arizona welcome home. See details on the calendar at youthfortroops.org and volunteer.
