Sat, Sept 26 11-12 @ Authentic EthioAfrican. A guide to Pollinator Gardening in the Urban Desert 🏜️
Join Scott and the Plant It Forward crew in learning the fundamentals of pollinator gardening. Did you know that the Sonoran Desert is a global hotpot for pollinator diversity? Throughout the class you’ll learn how easy it is to attract pollinators using the 3 pillars of a healthy garden - host plants, food sources, and nesting options. If it’s butterflies you are into! We got you! Scott will help you identify and choose the right native and desert adapted host plants to attract many species of native butterflies including the mighty Monarchs! If hummingbirds are more your style, you’ll walk away with confidence knowing what to plant and how to design your garden around their needs. Because the best thing about pollinators is that— “If you plant it, they will come.”
Fun fact - the last slide was taken outside of the Gurdwara on 9th St & is a monarch butterfly caterpillar on desert milkweed 🧡
