Congratulations to the first incoming freshman cohort of the Maryvale GTA Academy, the Gifted and Talented Micro School at Maryvale High School.

This summer, these students earned their first high school Gifted credit while participating in challenging academic experiences, social-emotional learning, and activities designed to help them transition confidently into high school.

Programs like this demonstrate what is possible when schools intentionally invest in gifted learners—not only through rigorous academics, but by creating a culture where students feel seen, supported, and connected from the very beginning.

This year’s conference celebrates the many ways giftedness shines: bright ideas, big questions, endless curiosity, bold creativity, unexpected perspectives, and sometimes a little glorious chaos.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Emily Mofield and Stephanie Higgins as keynote speakers for the AAGT Annual Conference 2027. Both are respected voices in the gifted education community, known for their work supporting gifted learners, educators, and families.

On June 17–18, AAGT had the pleasure of attending the Arizona Alliance of Black School Educators (AzABSE) Teacher Leadership Summit!

We loved connecting with educators, school leaders, and community partners from across Arizona while sharing resources to support gifted learners and their families.

Our breakout session focused on:
✨ Building strong parent groups
✨ Gifted identification in Arizona
✨ Introducing AAGT CommUnity, our new space for year-round collaboration and resource sharing

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, attended our session, and shared ideas. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with AzABSE as we work together to expand opportunities for gifted learners across Arizona!
