NEW for 2027: AAGT Parent & Homeschool Day!

We're making space for parents, caregivers, and homeschooling families at the 2027 AAGT Annual Conference!

Raising a gifted child can be exciting, rewarding, overwhelming, and sometimes a little isolating. Finding people who understand the unique experiences of gifted families can make all the difference.

On Monday, February 8, we're bringing Arizona's gifted families together for a dedicated day of learning, resources, and meaningful connections. Explore parent-focused sessions, discover resources for homeschooling families, hear from gifted education experts, and connect with other parents who understand the journey.

And yes, you'll get to enjoy the conference experience, too, including keynote sessions, the exhibit hall, conference swag, meals, and more!

Breakout session proposals are open for the 2027 AAGT Annual Conference: All That Glitters is Gifted, and we are looking for educators, researchers, advocates, and gifted education champions with ideas that can support Arizona’s gifted learners.

Whether your session focuses on classroom strategies, creativity, twice-exceptionality, social-emotional development, advocacy, belonging, leadership, the arts, innovation, or the wonderfully complex nature of giftedness, we invite you to submit.

Meet our next 2027 AAGT Annual Conference keynote speaker: Dr. Emily Mofield!

Emily is an Associate Professor at Lipscomb University, an award-winning author of more than 13 books, and a nationally recognized speaker in gifted education. Her work focuses on giving educators practical strategies they can use right away to deepen learning, extend student thinking, and help gifted learners reach their potential.

At this year’s conference, Emily will present Reimagining Brilliance: Transforming Potential into Realized Talent, exploring how gifted education has evolved, where it may be headed, and what today’s learners need as they grow up in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
Attendees will walk away with strategies for stretching student thinking, fresh ideas for developing talent, and new ways to communicate the purpose and value of gifted education to others.

And because we believe our keynote speakers should be brilliant and relatable: when Emily isn’t writing, teaching, or working with educators, you can find her riding her Peloton or playing piano — just not at the same time.

Meet one of our 2027 AAGT Annual Conference keynote speakers: Stephanie Higgs!

Known as Little Miss Gifted, Stephanie is an award-winning gifted educator, differentiation coach, author, and international presenter who brings research, practical strategies, and a whole lot of energy to every room she enters.

At this year’s conference, Stephanie will present Activate the Superpowers of Neurodiversity, a keynote designed to help educators, parents, and caregivers better understand the behaviors, communication, strengths, and needs of neurodivergent learners.

Stephanie’s sessions are known for being fast-paced, engaging, evidence-based, and full of ideas you can put into practice right away. Her goal? To help you leave feeling energized, equipped, and empowered to better support the learners in your life.

There’s a place for your perspective at AAGT.

Applications are now open to serve on the AAGT Board of Directors until October 4th, and we’re looking for people who care about creating better opportunities for gifted learners across Arizona.

And that doesn’t just mean educators or gifted education professionals!

Some of our strongest board members bring their experience as parents and caregivers of gifted children, advocates, community members, nonprofit leaders, and people who simply believe deeply in the importance of supporting gifted learners.

Board service is an opportunity to help guide AAGT’s work across the state: from advocacy and professional learning to family resources, community-building, events, and the future direction of the organization. It’s also a chance to bring your own experiences and perspective to the table alongside others who care about this work.

You don’t have to know everything about nonprofit boards or gifted education to have something valuable to contribute. We’re looking for thoughtful, engaged people who are willing to learn, share ideas, and help AAGT continue growing its impact throughout Arizona.
