There is a difference between being tempted by sin and choosing to make peace with it. Every believer struggles with temptation. Every one of us falls short and needs the grace of Jesus Christ. But “we’re all sinners” was never meant to become an excuse to justify what God calls us to turn away from.
The Christian life isn’t about pretending we never struggle. It’s about bringing our struggles into the light, agreeing with God about our sin, and continually turning toward Christ in repentance and faith. Grace meets us in our brokenness—but it also calls us to something more.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7

God has never required perfect people to accomplish His purposes. Scripture is filled with men and women who were deeply flawed, yet God worked through their lives in powerful ways. That doesn't minimize our brokenness—it reminds us where the power truly comes from. We are jars of clay: fragile, imperfect, and completely dependent upon Christ. The treasure isn't the vessel. The treasure is what God has placed within us, and the glory belongs to Him.

Even the greatest figures in Scripture were imperfect people in desperate need of a Savior. David, Paul, and countless others remind us that God works through broken people, but our hope must always remain in Him. We should always be reminded that no pastor, teacher, or ministry leader should ever take the place of Christ. We should also remember that God can still use us despite our broken nature.
