The focus of the Chamber is to provide a format for American Indian entrepreneurs to promote their business, for corporations to connect with American Indian businesses, to act as a liaison on tribal economic development issues and to offer the best in resources, t

The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Arizona is proud to highlight Kathleen Frank, a dedicated leader and advocate whose work continues to strengthen Native communities throughout Arizona.

Kathleen serves as Program Manager for the Center for American Indian Economic Development at Northern Arizona University, bringing decades of experience in Tribal affairs, higher education, student success, alumni engagement, and community leadership. Throughout her career, she has championed opportunities for Native students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and Tribal Nations.

An enrolled member of the Navajo Nation (Diné), Kathleen is originally from Dennehotso, Arizona, and proudly upholds the traditions and values of her people. She remains actively engaged with numerous organizations and initiatives focused on education, leadership development, economic advancement, and youth empowerment.

As an AICCAZ Board Member, Kathleen helps advance the Chamber's mission to support Native-owned businesses, strengthen Tribal economies, and create opportunities for American Indian entrepreneurs throughout Arizona.

The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Arizona family is deeply saddened by the passing of former board member JoAn Begay Notah, a tireless advocate for Native entrepreneurs, Tribal businesses, and economic empowerment across Indian Country.

JoAn dedicated her life and career to uplifting Native-owned businesses, mentoring emerging leaders, and creating opportunities for Indigenous entrepreneurs to grow and succeed. Her passion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to strengthening Native economies left a lasting impact on countless individuals, organizations, and communities.

She was a respected voice and a champion of progress, someone who genuinely believed in the power of Native business leadership to transform communities for future generations. Her legacy will continue to inspire all of us at AICCAZ and beyond.

We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.

Earlier that same day, the Navajo Nation Division of Economic Development will host the Navajo Business Regulation Outreach Workshop from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Phoenix Indian Center.

This workshop is specifically designed for enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, and there is no cost to participate. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive regulatory guidance, educational resources, and one-on-one consultations with Navajo Nation staff.

The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Arizona is proud to welcome Tanya Lewis, former Chairwoman of the Yavapai-Apache Nation, as the newest member of our Board of Directors.

Tanya was unanimously voted in at our recent board meeting, reflecting the deep respect for her strategic leadership, policy expertise, and commitment to strengthening economic opportunities for Tribal communities.

With a distinguished record that includes leading one of the most significant land acquisitions in Yavapai-Apache history and advancing long-standing water rights legislation, Tanya brings significant experience in Tribal governance, intergovernmental relations, economic development, and federal policy. 

Her voice and vision will help the Chamber continue expanding Native-owned business support, building high-impact partnerships, and advocating for economic prosperity across Arizona.
