Our June Volunteer Orientation was filled with caring hearts, great conversations, and a shared commitment to helping neighbors in need. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to learn more about serving through ACTS and Foothills Caring Corps.

Every new volunteer strengthens our ability to support local seniors, families, and neighbors facing challenges. Your willingness to step forward truly makes a difference and helps keep our community connected and caring.

This is Dorothy's story. πŸ’™

After a fall, she found herself stuck at home, unable to get around and unsure how to afford a wheelchair. Within 24 hours, our Mobility Loan Closet had her moving again. No cost, no paperwork, just a neighbor back with her grandkids and back at church where she wanted to be.

That is exactly why this program exists.

If you or someone you know is in a similar situation, please do not hesitate to reach out. We have wheelchairs, walkers, and more ready to go right now.

πŸ’™ Why I Volunteer

"I thought I was volunteering to help others. What surprised me was how much joy it brought to my own life."

Whether it's delivering mobility equipment, providing transportation, or simply spending time with a neighbor who needs companionship, our volunteers often tell us they leave every interaction feeling grateful and inspired.

Volunteering isn't just about giving your time. It's about becoming part of something biggerβ€”a community where neighbors care for one another.

Interested in joining us? We'd love to welcome you.

πŸŽ“ Reminder: ACTS Trade School Scholarships are now open to ALL adults in Anthem πŸŽ“

This is an important expansion of our scholarship program. What was once available only to graduating high school seniors is now open to adult residents of any age who are ready to invest in a new future.

For 2026, ACTS will award five $2,000 scholarships to individuals with financial need who are pursuing trade school, certification programs, or vocational training.

This opportunity is designed for people who are starting over, changing careers, or finally stepping into a path they have been putting off for years. We believe it is never too late to build a stronger future.

Because when we invest in people, we strengthen families and our entire community.

πŸ’› Reminder: ACTS Gives to Kids is still open and actively supporting local families.

A child shouldn’t miss out on opportunities to learn, grow, and simply be a kid because their family is going through a hard time. That belief is what this program is built on.

ACTS Gives to Kids provides support for children whose families are facing challenges like illness, job loss, divorce, or financial hardship. Our goal is to make sure kids feel included, supported, and hopeful.

Through this program, we may help with:
πŸ“š Tutoring and educational support
πŸ‘Ÿ Clothing and essential needs
⚽ Sports and enrichment activities
β˜€οΈ Summer and after-school programs

πŸ’› You can help right now:
β€’ $50 supports basic essentials
β€’ $100 supports enrichment activities
β€’ $250+ helps fund summer camp or safe programs

Every dollar goes toward helping a child stay engaged, supported, and connected to their community.

πŸ“§ Questions or referrals: [email protected]

This is real need happening right now in our community, and we are still actively accepting support and donations to help more children this summer.

πŸ’™ If May proved anything, it’s that a caring community can accomplish a lot in just 31 days.

This month, we watched volunteers step forward, donors open their hearts, and neighbors rally around neighbors in need. We saw people give their time, share their resources, and remind others that they are not alone.

Every act of service created a ripple effect. A ride to an appointment. A scholarship opportunity. A mobility aid. A helping hand during a difficult season. These moments may seem small, but together they help shape the kind of community we all want to live in.

Thank you to everyone who made May possible. Your generosity continues to turn compassion into action.

Here's to carrying that momentum into June. πŸ’™

Life has a way of throwing curveballs when you least expect them, and suddenly, an "impossible mountain" of bills or health issues appears. πŸ”οΈπŸ’” It is incredibly hard to be the one asking for help when you’ve always been the one giving it. 🀲

At ACTS, we meet every neighbor with nothing but dignity, kindness, and a warm heart. πŸ•ŠοΈ We believe that asking for help isn't a sign of weakness... it's a step toward healing within a community that truly has your back. πŸ«‚βœ¨
