Meet the Heart Behind Sugar Snuggles Glider Rescue

Hi everyone, I’m Ashley, the founder of Sugar Snuggles Glider Rescue.

I started this rescue because sugar gliders deserve knowledgeable, compassionate care and a safe place to go when their families can no longer keep them. These little animals are intelligent, social, sensitive, and often misunderstood.

My goal is to help gliders in need while also supporting owners, adopters, and the community through education and kindness.

Before Getting Sugar Gliders, Please Know This

Sugar gliders are not simple pocket pets. They are exotic animals with special care needs and a long-term commitment.

Before bringing sugar gliders home, families should understand:

• They are colony animals and should not live alone
• They need a proper, balanced diet
• They require a large safe cage and enrichment
• They are nocturnal and active at night
• They need patience, bonding time, and exotic vet care

At Sugar Snuggles Glider Rescue, education is a big part of our mission. The more people understand their needs, the fewer gliders end up needing rescue.

Why We Started Sugar Snuggles Glider Rescue

Sugar gliders are tiny, intelligent, social animals with very big needs. Sadly, many are rehomed or surrendered because people were not given the right information before bringing them home.

Sugar Snuggles Glider Rescue was formed to give these gliders a safe place to land.

Our mission is not only to rescue and rehome sugar gliders, but also to educate families about proper diet, bonding, housing, enrichment, veterinary care, and the lifelong commitment these animals deserve.

We believe every glider deserves safety, patience, and a chance to thrive.
