The Arizona Disability Advocacy Coalition (AZDAC) extends its congratulations to Renaldo Fowler on his retirement after 41 years of dedicated service with Disability Rights Arizona (formerly the Arizona Center for Disability Law).

Throughout his career as a Senior Staff Advocate, Renaldo demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing the rights of people who have disabilities. His work in protecting voting rights, expanding voter education, and advocating for youth with disabilities has had a lasting and meaningful impact across Arizona.

For the last 15 years, Renaldo has also served as co-founder of the African American Conference on Disabilities, helping to build a platform that continues to educate, empower, and uplift communities throughout the state.

On March 6, 2026, Disability Rights Arizona honored Renaldo alongside friends, family, colleagues, and community partners many of whom shared stories highlighting the profound difference he has made in their lives and in the broader disability community.

AZDAC recognizes and appreciates Renaldo’s legacy of leadership, service, and advocacy. His contributions have helped shape a stronger, more inclusive Arizona.

🚨 URGENT: This affects people who have disabilities.

The Trump Administration has announced a 6-month nationwide pause on new Medicare enrollment for certain DME suppliers.

This means no new suppliers can enter Medicare during this time.

When you limit suppliers, you limit access.

For people who rely on medical equipment, this could mean:

• Delays in wheelchair repairs
• Trouble getting ostomy or catheter supplies
• Oxygen equipment delays
• Fewer provider choices
• Longer wait times
• Disruptions to home-based services

Equipment is not optional.
It is medically necessary.
It keeps people safe at home and out of hospitals.

This policy is nationwide. Every state is impacted.

If you experience delays or problems, speak up immediately:

CALL MEDICARE: 1-800-633-4227
CALL U.S. CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD: 202-224-3121
(Ask for your U.S. Representative and Senators)

CALL ARIZONA MEDICAID (AHCCCS):
602-417-4000 or 1-800-654-8713

CALL YOUR HEALTH PLAN CASE MANAGER

Tell them clearly:

Access to medically necessary equipment cannot be delayed.

People who have disabilities deserve timely care and full access — not barriers.

Speak up. Stay engaged. Protect independence.

AZDAC 2026 Disability Day at the Capitol was powerful.

More than 100 coalition members showed up. We met with legislators, connected with the Governor’s staff, and made sure disability voices were heard.

Special thanks to Senator Lauren Kuby and Representative Jennifer Connolly for introducing our coalition on the Senate and House floors.
