Nico Strong Nico has Lama 2 Muscular dystrophy. Unfortunately, there is no cure at this time. In his 7 years of life Nico has done amazing things.

We are hoping to raise awareness, show others the daily struggles as well as the hurdles Nico has overcome.

He got to go to McDonald's after, its kind of tradition. He really wanted the Rinaldo world cup soccer cup but got someone else. If you happen to get one and dont want it I will pay you for it!

Nico has been home for a day and doing better.

The hospital is a lot of just sitting. Its quiet and gives me time to reflect. However, now that we are home there is so much to get caught up and on so much I missed. Faoth had her 8th grade dinner dance yesterday and I didnt even get to see her in her dress.
There is not a lot of sleeping at the hospital- students, residents, doctors, nurses and respiratory therapist come in and out all day. The care is the very best but it is exhausting.

I appreciate all the calls, texts and prayer. I will get back to everyone.

Nico came home this afternoon! Thank you for all the prayers. He is doing much better. It is a big adjustment coming home after 5 days away

Hey everyone. Valerie Barrington and I are thinking about hosting an Empowerment group for caregivers one evening. The first session will be called "what's to expect when the news is unexpected" it will be open for all caregivers/parents etc. We will talk about how to handle life when it gets hard and when things dont go as planned. It will be an open forum for sharing resources, feeling etc. I am wondering how many would be interested. I would like to host in person but could also do a zoom. If you are interested, share which you would prefer.
