The wood where the hinge attaches on the ramp leading to our ADA wheelchair accessible shower had become stripped. This weekend we took off the old wood, had to also grind off nuts holding the locks. We got the wood replaced, water treated, painted and we are ready to be out on the streets tomorrow morning 🤙🏽

In a perfect world there would be no need for our nonprofit to exist, but here in the real world we are happy to have a long line of guests signing up to utilize our services. We feel many of our guests continue joining us mainly because of the kindness, compassion and respect our teams shows our guests. We love being able to help everyone feel seen and cared about.

Yesterday Univision Arizona visited our shower trailer and ask our thoughts on the city of Phoenix restricting the distribution of food and, in some cases, medical care to those experiencing homelessness in city parks.

It is truly gross to live in a country where we make it illegal to help those in need. I was taught that being an American meant we helped those who need help. The government has this archaic belief that if they stop those in need from receiving assistance, that they will leave the area. Take away the food and you will see an increase in shoplifting. These individuals will need to get food somehow, and the city is taking food out of their mouths. It is bad enough the city isn’t doing more to help those experiencing homelessness, now they are going to stop those who are helping.

Not sure if there will be a link to the video, as I was interviewing with a Spanish network, but if we can find it, we will share it. We will continue doing what we do, and helping everyone we can ! Thank you to all of you working to make this world a better place for everyone ❤️

Our awesome volunteer Barbara sharing today’s feast and where the items came from. Barbara and Lori worked hard to make sure each guest experiencing homelessness left our services with a full stomach. Our volunteers are so amazing ❤️

Testimonial Tuesday- Please meet our guest Jerry. We see Jerry at our Scottsdale location, and he is always at the location waiting for us to arrive. Jerry is very shy, but always cracks a smile when our team members address him by his name. Learning and using our guests name is something our whole team focuses upon. We see it as a sign of respecting them enough to remember their name, something that rarely happens to folks experiencing homelessness. We always enjoy seeing, and serving, our friend Jerry.

Our volunteers Sarah and Kerri stopped by the Sprouts Farmers Market near our Scottsdale location and picked up a ton of donated baked goods. Our guests experiencing homelessness always look forward to all the goodies gratefully donated to our community.

Our Executive Director, Robert, and Board Member, Sarah, were invited to speak at this month’s Foundress event. This event had well over 100 brilliant, powerful and thoughtful female entrepreneurs and leaders. What an incredible group ! There were so many conversations about potential collaborations and opportunities. We are so grateful for the invitation and highly recommend this group to any woman looking for a community to join and partner up with other ambitious women.

Hello there friends and supporters of Cloud Covered Streets!! This is Operations Manager, Jay Allan! I have been actively and diligently searching for viable locations to bring our services to help our friends out there experiencing homelessness! I have been having frustrating difficulty finding a space for us to bring our services and could really use your help!!

The challenge has been to find a space that we can help a consistent amount of people (minimum of 30 or more individuals) that has the space for our trailer and amenities. This space must also be on private property (ie. a church or business parking lot) and can’t be a public park or general area of city space. We just need a general water hookup and area for drainage, which can be a simple storm drain or small grass or gravel area. The location must also be somewhere that we can create a consistency at and not just a place we go once or every now and then. Consistency is key for our friends that we help on the streets!

I have been speaking to many spaces throughout our vast city but just haven’t found another one that meets these requirements and we could use your help! You have all always been so amazing with your recommendations and ideas and I know with your help, we will be able to find some locations that we can help the most amount of people possible!!

I thank you for your help and continued support of CCS and all the amazing things you do to help us Shower the Streets with LOVE!!

Testimonial Tuesday- We all LOVE when we get to see Becca ! This young lady is always so grateful and shows kindness to everyone. Becca is just one of the many regular guests experiencing homelessness that break the negative stereotypes associated with individuals experiencing homelessness. If you were sitting next to Becca at a Starbucks and struck up a conversation with her, you would never guess that she was experiencing homelessness. We love Becca and so glad we are lucky enough to call Becca our friend. Thank you all for your support of our nonprofit and the work we do.
