Dawgz, Tailz & Wagz (DTW) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to providing resources for dogs in need and provide support to our local animal rescue community. Through a network of caring foster homes, volunteer advocates, veterinarians and trainers, our goal is to ensure that no dog in Maricopa County is left behind by an overburdened system. 🐾 Meet Louie! The Little Boss with a Big Personality! 🐾

Louie is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who thinks he’s in charge of the pack! This little guy was found wandering the streets of Glendale, but he’s now learning that life indoors comes with cozy comforts, full bellies, and lots of love. ❤️

Louie’s favorite place to be? Curled up in your lap, soaking up all the attention he can get! He’s a little guy with a big opinion, and he’s ready to find someone who will let him be their little sidekick while helping him learn the ropes.

🐶 Other dogs? Introductions are a must if you have other pets, as Louie likes to think he’s the boss!

🐱 Cats? He doesn’t seem to care about them.

🦮 Leash skills? Still unknown, as he hasn’t been tested yet.

🏠 Kennel trained? Yes! He may whine a bit at first, but he settles down once he gets comfortable.

Louie is adjusting to his new indoor life and is looking for a home that will give him patience, guidance, and plenty of lap time. Could this little boss be the missing piece in your family? ❤️🐾

She absolutely loves her people and wants nothing more than to be by your side soaking up all the attention she can get. 🖤 IT’S NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY… SO LET’S TALK ABOUT MALLORY.

Black dogs are celebrated today, but Mallory would prefer something a little more permanent than a holiday post:

She wants to become someone’s dog.

Black dogs can sometimes be overlooked, which is exactly why today is about giving beautiful pups like Mallory an extra spotlight. 🖤

Mallory is smart, athletic, affectionate, and always ready to have some fun. She currently lives with other dogs and LOVES having canine friends to play with. She’s crate trained, walks well on leash, and is a quick learner who does great when she has something to keep that busy brain and body occupied.

She’s definitely an active girl, but she’s not all go-go-go. Once the fun is over, Mallory is happy to settle in and enjoy being with her people too.

Her one request? No cats or small animals, please. Mallory finds them just a little too interesting.

👑 Linus is ready for royal treatment!

After being rescued from the euthanasia list and recovering from a previous jaw injury, Linus has decided he’s suffered enough. From here on out, he’d like to be carried around, doted on, and reminded how adorable he is. ❤️

Linus is a certified super foodie who happily eats soft food or kibble soaked in sodium-free broth.. and would also like it noted that he is willing to sample anything he can get his paws on.

He LOVES cats, he can get along with other dogs, but mostly? Linus cares about his person. Give him a lap, something yummy, the attention he clearly deserves, and he’s a happy camper.

He survived the scary part. Now he’s ready for the spoiled part. 👑❤️

❤️ Meet Carmel!

Carmel is an 11-pound Chihuahua mix pup who is a little shy at first, but once he decides you’re trustworthy, his sweet and goofy personality really shines! 🐾

He absolutely loves his rope toys and enjoys running around and wrestling with his foster brother. When playtime is over, Carmel is perfectly happy having some quiet time to himself or curling up for some snuggles with his humans. ❤️

Carmel is timid and needs time to warm up to new people and dogs, but patience pays off! Once he feels comfortable, he becomes a playful, loving little guy who will keep you smiling.

He would do best in a home with a well-balanced smaller dog who can help him continue building confidence and learning that people and the world can be a safe place. He is also making progress with potty training and will need continued consistency in his new home.

If you’re willing to give Carmel the time and patience he needs, you’ll get to watch a wonderful little personality blossom. 🥰

Every home needs socks. 🧦

Especially the kind that follows you from room to room, makes you smile, and happily claims your lap as her favorite place to be. ❤️

Meet Socks! This sweet little Pug mix is silly, affectionate, playful, and full of love once she has a chance to get to know you.

Socks takes a little time to warm up in new surroundings, but once she feels comfortable, her wonderful personality shines. Give her a little patience and reassurance, and she’ll become your playful sidekick, loyal companion, and devoted cuddle buddy. ❤️

Socks gets along well with little dogs and is happiest in a calm, relaxed home filled with love, tasty snacks, playtime, and a lap she’s welcome to claim as her own.

✨ RUBY HAS HER LIFE TOGETHER
Which is honestly a little embarrassing for the rest of us, because Ruby is only 9 months old.

But somehow, this girl is already housebroken, crate trained, smart, gentle, and remarkably mature for her age. She’s observant, thoughtful, and seems to understand that not every moment of the day needs to involve chaos.

Ruby loves other dogs and enjoys playing with her canine friends, but she also knows how to settle down and relax when playtime is over. She’s done well around kids, chickens, and goats, loves spending time outside, and is always down for a little water play.

With new people, Ruby likes to take a minute and check things out first. Once she’s comfortable, her sweet, affectionate personality comes right out.

At 9 months old Ruby has already figured out:

House manners? Yep.
Crate training? Yep.
Making friends? Yep.
Work-life balance? Somehow, yes.

The only thing she hasn’t managed to figure out? Her permanent home. ❤️

Ruby has her life together. Now she just needs a family to share it with.
