With roots stretching back to the Civil War, our organization has consistently examined Philadelphians’ most pressing needs and has fearlessly positioned itself on the front lines of serving those most vulnerable among us. Today, through a partnership of caring and services with our staff, we provide seniors with home-and community-based services, affordable senior housing, and skilled nursing care, which are designed to promote health and foster independence.

A weekend of faith, fellowship and connection. 💙

NewCourtland tenants, staff and chaplains recently enjoyed a spiritual retreat at Sandy Cove Ministries on the Chesapeake Bay, filled with prayer, worship, reflection and fun.

Special thanks to Chaplain Cynthia Pendergrass for making this meaningful experience possible and to Rev. Dr. Anthony Moore for sharing inspiring messages throughout the weekend.

In honor of National Senior Citizens Day, Germantown Home stepped back into the Roaring Twenties for a very special celebration honoring seven incredible residents who are 100 years young and older, including our oldest resident at 104! We also recognized one soon-to-be centenarian, who is 99, with an honorable mention. ❤️

It was a wonderful day filled with music, great food, family, friends and community. We are grateful to everyone who helped make the celebration so memorable, including volunteers from the 14th District PDAC, , who generously provided our celebration cake, Hospice, Bob Haley provided the desserts, and Health, who brought Philly pretzels for everyone to enjoy.

A special thank you to DJ Mike Hurt for keeping the celebration going and Crystal Stewart of Crystal Creations Catering Service for providing our delicious meal.

Most importantly, we were thrilled to welcome family members, residents and friends who joined us in celebrating these remarkable milestones. Here’s to 100+ years of stories, memories, wisdom and life well lived! ✨

Attendees learned valuable tips for recognizing red flags, protecting personal information and helping keep themselves and their loved ones safe from fraud.

We are aware of inaccurate information circulating on social media regarding the power outage at Apartments at Meadow House.

The outage was caused by a PECO service interruption affecting the surrounding area. As soon as the outage occurred, our property manager immediately began checking on residents floor by floor while contacting NewCourtland leadership for additional support. Approximately half of the building was affected.

Additional staff quickly arrived on-site and remained there until power was restored. The community room, which continued to have power, was opened so residents could stay cool, charge devices, and gather comfortably.

The claim that the property manager "walked out" is false. Our team remained on-site throughout the outage, and the safety and well-being of our residents was, and always will be, our highest priority.

We appreciate the concern shown by members of the community and encourage anyone with questions to contact NewCourtland directly for accurate information.

“Anchored in His Faithfulness” was the theme of our spiritual retreat, presented by NewCourtland Spiritual Support Services and led by Rev. Jennell Maddox ( ) and members of our Therapeutic Recreation team.

NewCourtland Leadership and residents from across our network gathered for worship, participated in a JUST Listening session and enjoyed a wonderful lunch prepared by the Germantown Home kitchen staff. It was a beautiful day filled with faith, fellowship and reflection. ⚓️💙
