Kathleen and Thomas J. Wojnar Jr Scholarship

The Second Street Polish Society is pleased to announce a scholarship in memory of Kathleen Wojnar and Thomas J. Wojnar Jr.

This $500 scholarship is open to high school students to assist with their tuition. Applicants should be of Polish descent and submit a 500-word essay to the Society. The theme of the scholarship is your own Polish heritage. Submit your essay explaining: what makes you most proud of your Polish heritage.

The deadline for the application is September 30, 2025, with the winner being announced at the Pulaski Day parade on October 5, 2025. Fill out the bottom of this page and submit

2025 2st Polish Society Scholarships

Applications are open for our annual scholarship program. See the details below:

1. July 1, 2025- open up scholarship entries (see below)

2. August 9, 2025- scholarship submission deadline

3. August 16th - Annual Shore Party at Keenan’s (announcement of scholarship awards)

Scholarship Details
1. Grades 1-4- coloring contest (see picture below).
2. Grades 5-6 – 250 word essay on your favorite Polish food
3. Grades 7-8 --250 word essay on current Polish President
4. High School Students – 500 word essay on history of catholic religion in Poland
5. College Applicants- 1,000 word essay on Poland’s current immigration policy.

Hello our Polish friends! We are only 3 weeks away from our 20th Pulaski Day Parade.
Here are the details:

Sunday October 6.
Arrive at the Pirates 10:00:breakfast and a cocktail.
11:15: buses leave Moore and Moyamensing.
After parade we return to the VFW Post at Front and Queen for an hour.
2:15: depart Post for walk up 2nd street with DJ to MickDaniels
3:00-7:00 open bar and Polish food at MickDaniels (no shots)
Day includes Joel as our DJ and bus to and from the Parkway.
Dress is Red Jackets with white collar shirt and khakis. If you need to order a jacket, please contact Ron G asap.
Price for the day is $125 for yourself. If you bring your partner/spouse, price is $150.
For those who join us at MickDaniels but are not in parade, cost is $40 per head.
