The IBA was thrilled to visit for our April ConnX!

Thank you to all who joined us and helped make it a special evening of connection, and thank you to our incredible hosts! ConnX is the IBA’s monthly networking event, and it is free and open to all. THANK YOU and for hosting the IBA and other members of the Diverse Chambers Coalition of Philadelphia and Small Business Centers to learn about upcoming opportunities!

The IBA and several member businesses had the amazing opportunity to connect with the Phillies and MLB Social Impact & Business Partners leadership. We got to learn about opportunities, initiatives and events for small businesses surrounding the upcoming MLB All-Star Game and its festivities here in July, as well as other ways to get involved throughout the year.

One of the main pillars of the IBA is advocacy. Twice a year the Diverse Chambers Coalition gathers data from business owners to get DIRECT FEEDBACK about issues you are facing and bring them DIRECTLY TO CITY HALL.

As LGBTQ+ folks we don't always have a seat at the table, but the IBA is fortunate that we do, and we want to represent you in those rooms. We are simply the vessel that amplifies your experience. We need to hear from you!!!

The results from this survey allowed the Diverse Chambers Coalition to advocate for and successfully convince the City Council to lower BIRT taxes in previous years. We can make an impact together.

What can you do when ICE or related agencies show up at your business?

The IBA is partnering with Asylum Pride House and Juntos to host this training specifically for business owners! Join us on May 21st from 4-6pm to learn about how you can care for your business and your staff.

This training will cover:
✅ Steps you can take to plan in advance of immigration showing up at your business
✅ How you can respond in the moment should something happen
✅ Follow-up steps you can take to continue protecting your staff and community.

There will be legal professionals in the room to ask any questions.
