I would like to take a moment of your time to let you know that I am running for a seat on the Newtown Borough Council this fall. When Bob Walker announced that he would not seek reelection, I decided to “throw my hat in the ring!”

ur municipality and how would you address it? “
My answer to this question was as follows. My number one concern is keeping our taxes low while maintaining the quality of services from our police, fire and road services to our residents. The redevelopment of the former Stockburger car dealership on South State Street offers a unique opportunity to gain new tax revenue through Real Estate and Earned Income taxes. In a recent meeting held on April 27th, 2017 I was able to speak up regarding a request from the developer of this project for a change in zoning that would have cost us hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue. The council voted not to allow the zoning change. I feel my voice helped to make a difference. I feel with my experience serving on both the planning commission , parking and traffic committee and my career as a realtor dealing with land development issues, makes me a very qualified candidate for Borough Council. In addition to my public service to the borough, I have been a member of the Newtown Rotary Club for over 30 years where I have helped to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local organizations in our community. I hope to be able to stop by and speak to you before Election Day on Tuesday, November 7th, and to hear some of your concerns and suggestions for the Borough.
