The Cobbs Creek Ambassadors are planning their fourth annual Cobbs Creek Summer Celebration! This FREE event is full of activities including horseback riding, fishing, bird watching, a bounce house, food, and more. It will take place on Saturday, September 12th from 11am-3pm at Thomas Ave & Cobbs Creek Parkway just north of Whitby Ave. The rain date is Sunday, 9/13.

We are thrilled to start getting aerials of the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation public pools that we transformed this summer with Mural Arts Philadelphia into welcoming, vibrant places that make Philly kids and families feel transported, connected, and loved. Here’s a photo of FJ Myers pool, with deck murals or ‘rooms’ (when combined with furniture) as we call them, painted by the ever-awesome MC . This summer’s improvements with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Mural Arts Philadelphia brings us to a total of 16 Philly public pools transformed thus far! We have A LOT of pools to go but it really feels like we have some incredible momentum, particularly when Councilmembers start asking for improvements in their district. The impact is real, the joy is palpable. Let’s go!
You can help us do more next year and in years to come by advocating for these types of pool improvements with your Councilmember.
