Peace Islands Institute Pennsylvania Peace Islands Institute PA is a nonprofit that promotes a civil society based on shared human values

Goals

•Facilitate unity for building peace, education to eradicate ignorance, welfare to fight against poverty and hunger, progress to promote development

• To develop original and alternative perspectives on global and social issues as they relate to our lives, as well as present explanations and solutions.

• Support successful practices in peace building.

• Build relationships among diverse cultures and traditions.

• Unite different point of views on common global issues

• Provide educational platforms for global and social challenges.

• Encourage people to actively engage in solving social and global problems of humanity.

• Encourage business owners to be part of a philanthropic economy to end problems like poverty and hunger.

• Provide an atmosphere of peace and understanding for all people, regardless of race and cultural tradition.

• Prepare annual reports for both non-govermental agencies (NGOs) and governmental agencies on social issues.

We are pleased to welcome Ömer Önder as the new Executive Director of Peace Islands Institute Pennsylvania.

Omer brings experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and product management, along with a deep commitment to fostering dialogue and building meaningful connections across diverse communities. We are excited to work together as we continue our mission of promoting understanding, collaboration, and civic engagement throughout Pennsylvania.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our outgoing Executive Director, Muhammed Said Selmanlar, for his dedication, leadership, and the strong foundation he has built for our organization. His contributions have helped shape Peace Islands Institute Pennsylvania, and we wish him continued success in her next chapter.

We hosted the 2nd Annual PA Capitol Friendship Dinner on June 29 alongside our partner organizations at the Pennsylvania State Capitol.

Thank you to the state legislators, faith leaders, and friends from diverse backgrounds who made the evening so vibrant. It was inspiring to see new connections made and meaningful conversations unfold around every table.
