VAAD, our long term partner in Ukraine, has recently completed a rehabilitation program ะŸั€ะพะณั€ะฐะผะฐ "ะ’ั–ะดะฝะพะฒะปะตะฝะฝั ะฟั–ะด ั‡ะฐั ะฒั–ะนะฝะธ" for Ukrainian military veterans and service members living with the consequences of serious injuries and combat trauma.

The project brought together ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿณ ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜€, many of whom had experienced severe physical injuries and concussions. ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฏ ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—ฃ๐—ง๐—ฆ๐——, reflecting the serious challenges faced by this group.

Throughout the project, participants had an opportunity to step away from everyday challenges and spend time in a supportive environment.

The program included:

๐ŸŽจCreative activities such as painting and sculpting

๐ŸŒฒTrips into nature and one-day hikes

๐Ÿ‘คPsychological exercises and group activities

๐ŸคTime to connect, communicate, and simply be together

We are grateful to everyone who contributed their time, care, and resources to this project. Creating spaces where veterans can reconnect with themselves, with nature, and with others is an important part of supporting their journey after service.

Chargรฉ dโ€™Affaires a.i. Denys Sienik met with Christopher Manson, founder of U.S. Ambulances for Ukraine.

Since his first trip to Ukraine in April 2022, Chris has returned 11 times. What began as a personal mission, inspired by his daughter Lily, has grown into a lifesaving effort: 125 emergency vehicles delivered to Ukraine so far, now serving first responders in Odesa; Boryspil, Kyiv region; Kharkiv, and communities across the country.

Chris shared stories of ordinary Americans โ€” from small towns to major cities โ€” who have stepped up to support Ukraine and help save lives.

Metropolitan Borys Gudziak concluded his solidarity visit to Ukrainian eparchies, Caritas branches, hospitals and universities in the Western part of Ukraine: Chernivtsi, Volyn region, Drohobych and Truskavets. Accompanying the Metropolitan were Fr. Mark Fesniak, Andrea Kochan Neagle, and Sofia Zacharczuk.

Metropolitan Borys was able to visit project sites supported by the Healing of Wounds of the War in Ukraine Fund and speak to recipients of the Fundโ€™s projects . He had an opportunity to talk to local partners such as Caritas Chernivtsi, Eaparchy of Chernivtsi, Caritas Samir-Drohobych, UGCC rehab center โ€œNazarethโ€ and visit local church leadership, hospitals and universities.

Thanks to the generous support of our American donors, the Healing of Wounds of the War in Ukraine Fund has distributed over $12.1 million to Ukraine supporting 313 projects.
