By the end of the First World War, more than 150,000 Armenian children were left parentless by the Ottoman Empire. The orphaned children who survived overcame significant challenges, but ultimately remained faithful to their religion and nationality.

SOAR continues to support the families of our fallen and severely injured soldiers and prisoners of war and displaced Artsakh families.

During this time of remembrance, consider making a donation to our Families of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund (FFSRF) to ensure that no children of fallen Armenian soldiers are ever institutionalized, https://www.soar-us.org/ffsrf/
or to our Artsakh Family Integration Fund (AFIF) https://www.soar-us.org/afrf/
to help the families forcibly displaced from their homes in the fall of 2023.

Celebrating the Safe Return of Vicken Euljekjian

We are overjoyed to share the news of Prisoner of War (POW) Vicken Euljekjian’s safe return on January 14.

After years of uncertainty, Vicken is now reunited with his family and receiving the care he needs, as his family begins the important process of healing.

This moment reflects the dedication of our teams and supporters through Families of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund (FFSRF), Artsakh Family Integration Fund (AFIF), and Prisoner of War (POW) initiatives, focused on providing humanitarian support, care, and assistance to families affected by conflict.

Our work is guided by compassion, solidarity, and the commitment to stand with Artsakh families and the families of fallen soldiers.

A special thank you to Luciana Minassian, our Buenos Aires Chapter President, whose dedication, and tireless advocacy have played a vital role in supporting POWs and helping bring Vicken home safely.

*** HELP US BRING AWARENESS! ***
Tomorrow, June 21, 2025, UFC will mark a historic milestone by hosting UFC on ABC: Hill vs. Rountree Jr. in Baku, Azerbaijan. We recognize this as a proud moment for the sport, and for a city with such rich heritage and global significance.

Yet, as this celebration unfolds, we feel a moral duty to raise a deeply human concern linked to that same city.

As of this writing, 23 Armenian prisoners remain unjustly detained in Baku, with 16 currently facing trials described by international legal experts as arbitrary, politically motivated, and lacking basic due process.

These are not combatants or criminals; they are civilians trapped by conflict and circumstance. Remarkably, many of them are passionate fans of the UFC—and of combat sports in general. In their isolation, the strength, dignity, and discipline embodied in this sport offer them something profoundly meaningful.

SOAR has reached out to many of the prominent figures of this event, including: Bruce Buffer, Linda McMahon, Dana White, Paul Felder, Michael Bisping,
Brandon Fitzgerald, Joe Rogan, and Daniel Cormier.

Our hope is to bring awareness of this situation, and send a plea to remember our Armenian brothers in captivity.

PLEASE SHARE WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW...TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

As we reflect on our recent 20-Year Anniversary Chapter Meetings and Gala, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the incredible sense of community that was palpable throughout the celebrations. It was truly inspiring to see our team from Armenia, dedicated chapter members from around the globe, and esteemed facility directors from both Armenia and Lebanon come together in unity and purpose.

These gatherings not only marked a significant milestone in our journey but also reinforced the deep connections we share in our mission to uplift orphaned Armenian children. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, as your presence and contributions made the events memorable and impactful. If you missed the celebrations, we encourage you to contribute to one or both of the initiatives that require funding - your support is essential to making a difference in the lives of these children.
