Next Tuesday the Sandy neighborhood group is meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 10:00 am to 12:30 at Quilt Etc. Door #3, 16 E Main St, Sandy.
Our activity, will be making a Sheep Pin Keep. This is Diana's project. Her helpers are Mary Ann and Janet . Diana’s suggestion is to sew up the body and head before you come.
NEED FOR PIN KEEP
10 1/2" x 4 1/2" wool for sheep-color of your choice
6" x 2 1/2" wool for blanket
1/4'' x 8" red wool for scarf
2-4mm black beads for eyes (Dianna didn't add eyes)
4-5/16" buttons for corners of blanket
1- 1/2 " bell for neck (provided by Dianna)
Polyfil (provided by Dianna)
1/4 cup of Sand or Walnut shells (sand is heavier)
Funnel
Long thin needle for beads if putting on eyes
Sewing machine and usual items. Thread that matches your wool.
Sturdy needle and thread to match your wool for attaching head and tail.
Sharp scissors to cut snips in curves of wool

Three groups meeting this week:
The west Valley neighborhood group NG, Sew it Seams is meeting June 9 at 6:30 p.m.at Granite Library - 3331 South 500 East
Kathi is going to show us how to make a sun hat. Here is the list of supplies needed:

1/2 yard main fabric, home decor weight cotton is preferred
1/4 yard lining fabric, quilting weight cotton is preferred
1/2 yard stiff interfacing
Coordinating thread
Sewing machine and supplies

Susan has pattern pieces available, but if you'd like to get a jump start before then, the sun hat is a free pattern by Lorenna Buck designs.

The Embroidery NG is meeting Thursday evening via zoom 6:30 pm We will be sharing what works with us individually to stay organized. Please join our meeting prepared to discuss:
Embroidery design storage - how you file designs on your computer or on your bookshelf (design cd / instructions)
Fabric storage
Stabilizer storage
Do you plan your embroidery projects in advance or do they just present themselves?
How far in advance do you plan your projects? (i.e., before holidays or special events).

SIGH Late again. IYKYK why I have been a little disoriented the past few days.

So apologies to Sue and Sarah. The Vintage group is meeting tomorrow June 2nd, 10:30-12:30 at Quilts Etc. We will be starting Tamra's Sit and Stow. The goal for the day is to get Pocket panels started maybe finished.
The second group day to work on this is September 1st. So lots of time for self progress.
Sarah has sent out the modifications for the cushion seat pattern. Sue will have copies of the original pattern from Tamara for $5.00. Please remember to respect copyright laws. The supply and cutting list is sent out to members of the group.

Thursday the Orem group is hosting a charity sew for the "Festival of Trees". The chapter members are participating and meeting at Tonya's for an all day sew-in. Fabric is provided by "Riley Blake fabrics". https://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/
Pot luck lunch so bring a dish to share, your sewing machine and BSS. We need people to measure and cut fabric if you don't want to transport your machine.10:30 am until we are finished.

The Ogden neighborhood group is meeting this Thursday May 21 at the Weber County library, Pleasant Valley Branch 5568 S Adams Ogden 1pm to 3pn. The group is making the block shown. Bring your sewing machine, BSK, 3 fat quarters (a light, medium, and dark that coordinate) and an add a quarter ruler if you have one. If not, bring a ruler with the 1/4" line clearly marked. Pattern, Cutting mats and an iron are provided. The meeting will be at the library in the board room at 1 p.m. We have the room from 12:45 on so you are welcome to come a little early to set up.

The next Sandy, Sew Inspired Neighborhood Group (S.I.N.G.) is meeting, on
Tuesday, May 19, 10:00 am to 12:30 at Quilt Etc. Door #3, 16 E Main St, Sandy.
The activity on Tuesday, is making a Mug Caddy. Robyn is demonstrating this project. Her suggestion is to have the pieces cut out before you
come, so you can get sewing right away.
This fabric caddy fits over a standard 11 oz ceramic coffee mug, the kind that you can find at the dollar store! For your reference, the mug, used in the pattern, is 3 3/4’’ tall and the opening for liquids is about 3 1/8’’ wide.

Saturday May 23 the fit group is meeting all day 9am-4pm at the Salt Lake County Government Center Room N3-930. Pot Luck lunch bring your own drink. Carolyn is bringing paper goods. If this is your first time contact [email protected] for what to bring.
