The Energy Efficiency Alliance - EEA

The Energy Efficiency Alliance - EEA In 2006, KEEA was founded in response to the pending expiration of utility rate caps in Pennsylvania and the state’s lack of energy efficiency policies.

The Energy Efficiency Alliance is a non-profit trade association of businesses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey dedicated to energy efficiency market transformation and utility reform. In 2007, KEEA’s core partners developed a statewide Energy Action Agenda to help remove market and regulatory barriers in order to ensure that energy efficiency becomes a central policy objective in Pennsylvania. Sinc

e then, over 65 diverse energy service providers, businesses, and non-profits have signed on to KEEA’s Energy Action Agenda.

Digging in on data centers? Check out this new series from the Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP), which shares analysis and insight on data centers and energy regulations for a policymaker audience:

"RAP’s series Data Centers and the Next Era of Energy Regulation is designed to help decision-makers make sense of the mountain of information and navigate the landscape of large-load growth. Drawing on RAP’s history of working with regulators and other decision-makers across jurisdictions and market structures, this series explores the implications of large-load growth for energy regulation and how to appropriately balance urgent requests with long-term outcomes."

This moment of rapid large-load growth is an opportunity to catalyze long-needed reforms in regulatory systems.

EEA-NJ supports A796/S731—two bills that would make new NJ data centers pay their fair share, instead of shifting costs from skyrocketing energy demand to New Jersey's homes and businesses. We urge Governor Mikie Sherrill and all NJ legislators to support these common-sense policies.

Help EEA-NJ defend NJ's energy efficiency programs! if your firm/organization works in New Jersey, sign this letter from our colleagues at Environment New Jersey by Friday, February 20th to make your voice heard. Addressing energy affordability is crucial—and cutting the very programs that create permanent bill savings is counterproductive.

Please use this form to add your organization to a joint letter from NJ organizations and businesses urging the Sherrill administration to protect funding from our state's critical clean energy and climate programs. The deadline to sign is Friday, February 20. The letter text is available here, and....

EEA-NJ agrees w/ American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE)—addressing New Jersey's energy affordability crisis is crucial, but requires investing *more*, not *less* in energy efficiency programs. EE programs create permanent, cost-cutting building improvements that last long after ratepayer relief funds and other temporary solutions end. We urge Governor Mikie Sherrill to protect EE program funding.

Regulators should ensure changes floated don’t jeopardize available funding

EEA, KEEA, & EEA-NJ were glad to see PJM's statement of support for a "price collar"! This is a crucial tool for reining in skyrocketing consumer energy bills for the next few years. THANK YOU to everyone who spoke up during PJM's comment process in January!
