💗 FOR DA CULTURE COMMUNITY COOKOUT UPDATE 💗

After weeks of planning, two postponements, and lots of prayer, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 For Da Culture Community Cookout.

While we’re disappointed, we trust that ALLAH had other plans. Every meeting, rehearsal, product, and act of service was not in vain. The impact of this journey goes far beyond one event.

Thank you to our girls, families, volunteers, partners, vendors, and community for your continued support and belief in our mission.

This may be the end of the 2026 cookout, but it’s not the end of the work. Worth. Wellness. Wealth. 💗

We know this has been a journey, but we want our youth and community to experience this day in the best weather possible. 💛

Come celebrate youth entrepreneurship, wellness, culture, food, music, performances, family fun, and so much more!

So spread the word (no whispers this time 😅), bring your family, and come celebrate with us!

Summer in Philly just got a purpose. 💗💚💛

Pull up to the For Da Culture Cookout where joy becomes resistance and community becomes the solution. This community family reunion style cookout is a reminder that violence prevention starts with connection, safe spaces, opportunity, and showing our young people that they are seen, supported, and worth investing in.

From the Greenpreneur Youth Marketplace to the Anti-Violence Fashion Exhibition in honor of PTSD Awareness Day, we’re choosing healing over hurt, hope over hopelessness, and culture over chaos.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets & mini fans, we finna have a blast!

HOPE-ish Works is officially in motion 💜

Zaahirah, the founder welcomed this year’s participants and made it clear that this is a youth-led safe space for growth, mindset elevation, and real exposure to career and creative work tracks.

We’re building confidence, developing skills, and learning how to carry ourselves with purpose in every space we step into.

Some conversations are hard to have… but they matter 🖤

KYWGI is partnering with the Adolescent Health Initiative for LiFT: Linking Families & Teens a fun, interactive workshop for teen girls and trusted adults to have honest conversations about relationships, communication, health, boundaries, and trust in a safe and supportive environment.

We know how important it is for young people to feel heard, supported, and connected to the adults around them. This workshop creates space for real talk, learning together, and strengthening those relationships.
