We’re so proud of Israel Advocacy Group intern, Ethan Ackerman for this meaningful tribute 💙
This year, Ethan Ackerman took part in the 9/11 Stair Climb with a very personal purpose: to honor the three Jewish FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Three Jewish firefighters. Three members of the FDNY family.
Three lives that must never be forgotten.
Ethan, a political science student at the University of Kansas, originally from Philadelphia, also serves his community through firefighting and EMS. He understands that September 11th cannot simply become a date in a history book.
As he wrote, “I don’t want my generation to be the one that forgets.”
That is exactly why remembrance matters.
The Ner Tamid Society is grateful to Ethan for climbing in honor of Stephen, Alan and David, and for helping ensure that their names, their service and their sacrifice continue to be remembered, particularly within the Jewish community and among the next generation of first responders.
Twenty-five years later, we remember.
