A reference to the opening line of Nobel-winning Irish poet Seamus Heaney’s ‘Anahorish’, the “first hill in the world where springs washed into the shiny grass”…

‘My Place of Clear Water’ is a love letter you’re welcome to read.

Rachel DiBlasio’s premiere Philly Fringe Festival offering, the words of Hildegard von Bingen, John Milton, Emily Dickinson, Laura Morefield, among others are woven together in this candlelit, intimate concert. Come witness poetry brought to life through song, and follow the thread of the poetic text, the program moves through connections to place, to body, and to the shelters we build inside our own hearts.

Isolated and confused androids. Operatic astronomers. Tesla and his… pigeon. This three part evening of intimate chamber opera and new works is sure to knock you into the cosmos and have you exploring the poignant concept on most minds: what makes us human?

Proudly featured in Philly Fringe Festival 2026 lineup, ‘Beyond’ asks what happens when the technology we build to make life more efficient begins to develop memory, desire, connection, and agency. Set outside a ship dismantling center in the distant future, ‘Beyond’ follows androids 142-6 and 513-2 as they face an uncertain fate in a world that no longer needs them. With a libretto by Caitlin Vincent and music by Lisa Neher, this intimate chamber opera stars soprano Olivia Broderick and mezzo-soprano Isabelle Zeledón, with Ting Ting Wong, piano.
The evening blasts off with two contemporary works: Patricia Wallinga’s ‘When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer’, receiving its Philadelphia premiere, and Melissa Dunphy’s ‘Tesla’s Pigeon’, each exploring its own encounter between science, technology, isolation, and human connection.

Together, these three works move from the stars above us to the machines beside us, tracing the fragile threads between isolation and connection, science and imagination, memory and desire.

All will be revealed when you find yourself in Dicky Dutton & Heather Jones’ NEVER LAND, brought to full production with Liberty City Arts. Their first show of 2026’s FringeArts festival, this q***r theatrical cabaret finds pirates, mothers, villain origin stories colliding when our beloved childhood characters attempt to grow up or grow out of the expectations assigned to them at birth.

With those familiar Bernstein & Rittman tunes from the 1950 and 1954 Barrie Broadway productions interspersed, new songs and incidental music by Michael Lewis transport you to a land of curiosity, mischief, and confusion of childhood imagination, ultimately creating a dark but whimsical allegory for q***r escapism.
