(MJ) about the great experiences he had playing in various charity golf tournaments. Some tournaments were just for fun, others were for various charities and some started out just for fun and turned into charitable events. Then when MJ was 14-years-old, he got a job at a golf course, started to understand the game of golf a little better and why his dad loved it so much. He realized the proverbia
l “win-win” of golf tournaments, doing good by helping people while having a great time! One day, while talking about a golf tournament held at the course where MJ worked, he said to his dad “I have an idea for a golf tournament. Since everyone has a charity that they think is worthy, we could put together a tournament and have the winning foursome choose the charity that the winning purse would go to…their favorite charity.” His dad thought this was a great idea and they continued talking about how to go about setting the tournament up and the value of letting people choose the charity. While going back and forth about potential tournament names, MJ asked his mother what she thought and she said, “It’s simple really. Fore-A-Good-Cause…Yours!” And the tournament name was born. Fast forward to the summer before MJ’s senior year in High School and his thoughts turned to his Senior Project. Again, during a conversation with his parents he announced, “For my Senior Project, I would like to make Fore-A-Good-Cause happen, I want to do the golf tournament.”
And so it begins…
