Program Content:
This heritage enrichment educational public program has a tremendous appeal and interest to all strata of the general public. It has a thematic relativity that links people 60 years or older, with their "great grandparents" who lived during this dark and dangerous period of American history that convulsed into a nation divided, a nation at war with itself, that ultimately placed us all on the road to human rights, civil rights, desegregation, and the America that we know today. This period of 150 years ago, was a tumultuous time when African Americans fled and joined the armed struggle for their freedom, alongside Asian Americans, Irish Americans, German Americans, Italian Americans, Jewish Americans, and so many others who took part in the struggle. It has been said that: "the youth of this era learn history from Hollywood". We seek to teach them history from those among us, who were closest to it. This program allows those living interim heralds, to convey to the younger generations the remembrance, experiences, and reverence for the sacrifices of those Ancestors who came before us, who struggled and shed their blood for our freedoms. Thus, it is our hope to rekindle "respect" for the value of human life among our youth. Teach children identity, culture, and the inter-appreciation of the identity and culture of others….”world culture”.
